So in January the 13th 1991 the Lithuanians were tired of the soviet military taking over Lithuania over and over again. They held the Lithuanian flags and tried to defend they’re country. They held each other’s hands and tried to defend the buildings of Vilnius and the most important one - The Television tower. The news reporters were very nervous. Cause the Russians were trying to take over the television tower (the news reporters were still there reporting the horrifying news). My mother was near the television tower too. She was 19 years old and saw how the Russians threatened the news reporters to shoot they’re backs. The soviet military brought tanks and guns with ‘plastic’ bullets. 14 Lithuanian people died. 1 woman and 13 young men.
