I like the kid's coloring book vibe, but maybe someday I'll do a proper redraw of the piece above. I wonder how much I could improve on the beach background, though I can't say I've practiced it enough to do leagues better... but that's what makes me curious to see how I could pull it off. I struggled a bit interpreting Murasaki's swimsuit, because the original has her sleeves detached from the base-- though I'm sure it's meant to be apart of the top. It's a cute design, but also it clashes a bit with her hair, in my opinion. Too same-y. So if I were to do a redraw, I wonder if I'd keep the same concept or try something different. Not too much to say about Miro in this drawing. I tried giving him some toned muscles, since canonically most of the characters are pretty in shape (they literally fight for a living). I see Murasaki being a bit on the pudgy side. Again, since her hair and swimsuit clash a bit it's hard to tell, but she does have pretty decently sized hips.

I much prefer more variation in body-types between these characters, instead of skinny, skinny, kinda buff and just straight emaciated (starving Victorian child-core) I pride myself in learning to draw a variety of body shapes. I've been doing a lot better with that this past year now, but hopefully I'll have it down packed in the near future.
