epic scene party is fighting dragon but they are beginning to lose. laios is about to get eaten by the dragon when his sister, falin, jumps in the way, at the same time casting a spell sending the rest of the party back to the surface to save them. realizing hes back on the surface, he immediately looks for the rest of the party, he finds 2 of the 5 other members, tbey inform him that 2 resigned once back on the surface, and his sister was not found. they came to the conclusion shes still in the dungeon, eaten by the dragon. they are loe on money and dont have enough to buy supplies and rations to go back down and save her before shes digested (dragons dogest slowly when aslewp, they assume its asleep cause they usually only hunt once then sleep for a long time) so laios has the bright idea to go back in the dungeon and survive off of eating mosnters (hes actually been very fixated on monsters the whole time, very autistic) and thats what the show is about

spoilers ahead very summarized. they meet dwarf senshi he can cook mosnters they make their way down having goofy adventures and they kill dragon cut it open and. shes dead. people can be revived in the dungeon due to a curse put on it. but shes too far gone. elf girl marcille in the party reveals she studies ancient forbidden magic and revives falin with it, using dragon meat to replace missing human meat, falin comes back normal. rejoice. the mad mage that made the dungeon finds them tho and is angry the party took the dragon they made and takes it back, including the meat in falin, dragon is revived, falin included, falin is chimera mosnter. parties new goal is defeat mad mage and get falin back to norm

falin is also being controlled by mad mage in this form and is not fully conscious of herself. also old party member shuro and his new party meet them after they lost falin again, laios spills that they used forbidden magic and him and shuro and laios fight. not like deadly more like children hitting each other. shuro is in love with falin (falin is very clearly implied not interested) and is pissed about what they did to her. now lther people know about forbidden magic so they gotta defeat mad mage and take over the dungeon. also at the beginning its said whoevwr defeats mad mage and takes over the dungeon will inherit the land (the island they are on) so if they do that they will rule the land and wont face legal backlash for forbidden magic

alsp chilchuck has been there the whole time. but yeah they want to defeat mad mage they hear about the winged lion supposedly is a powerful being that can help them. this is as far as the 1st season of anime got but ive seen spoilers from the manga, winged lion is in fact a demon trying to get to the surface. beyond this stuff idk

tldr: dude lost sister to dragon, go back down to get sister, revive her with dragon meat, evil mage takes the dragon meat back, sister becoems part of dragon, shes a chimera now controlled by evil mage. dude and co. gotta defeat the evil mage to hopefully have sister returned to normal.
