LinkWell, I always make "pose" drawing first. Then, on another page (or layer if you're using the beta editor) draw a sort of rough draft. Finally, I add details on yet another slide/layer. Those are my general art tips (for drawing people). If you're looking for digital-art specific tips, then I'm not the right person to ask, seeing as how I just started animating/digital art two weeks ago.
P.S. Proportions are important.
