Thank you!
So, I was watching Spider-man (the Sam Raimi one) and I took a qyuick break to check out what's been going on on here. Someone important to me has made several posts and comments today indicating that she is sad about something. I saw a few things in the comments (and remembered other things I've seen before) and I wanted to tell you what I personally think you shouldn't say in the comments of an obviously sad post. Thread incoming.

Don't say that you are sad too. I know you think you're relating, but you don't know why the post was made. they could be going through some seriously bad shit, so saying "Yeah I'm a buit weepy right now too" is a dick move. On the same token, don't talk about your problems. do you honestly think telling someone why you are sad will help them? It won't, that's dumb. Also, don't do that passive aggressive thing where trhey tell you they don't care what you feel then you paint yourself as the victim.

And, don't tell them that they're fine, or that dumb "we care about you" stuff. it doesn't matter that some people they don't knbow care a bit about them, they are sad and you saying "I've never spoken to you before and I don't know your name, but I care" Don't devalue their experiences because you think you have it worse, because chances are you don't, and you can't compare experiences anyway, because it's about how you react, not what happens.

Don't pretend to be there for them. don't say "I'm here for you" if you don't ever talk, and you don't know them at all. In fact, if you don't talk to them, just don't comment. because nothing you say really matters, because it's coming from someone who intrinsically can not actually care about the person, because you do not know the person.

End of thread unless I get pissed off by other things.
