Velvet found a large shirt that was a jet black. She took it, looking down while walking towards Void

Void: *drank the water, hiccuping mid sip*

Velvet gulped, her face red as she got a glimpse of his strong chest. “P-Put the s-shirt on V-Void....”

Void: ok*he chuckled, hiccuping more*

Velvet turned around “D-Don’t do anything stupid if you haven’t already!” She thought of a lewd memory of when she came across a drunk man once.

Void: *he put on the shirt, swaying slightly* oooh gosh...

Velvet swing around, gently grasping him by his back and torso with her soft, delicate paws

Velvet gasped, gaping her mouth open in embarrassment. Her face was blushing hard, clearly visible from 1 mile away

She poked him on the chest “D-Don’t do OR say anything stupid!”

Void: Sorry! ohh gosh... *swayed*

She grabbed him again, just by his arm and broad back, leading him to the bedroom. “You should rest. And stop drinking so heavily!”

She slapped him, but her paws made it hard for her to actually hurt him. “Nothing will happen other than you resting!”

Velvet gave him a stern glance “Not today, dear sir! You are going to bed and I will make you feel better!” They entered the bedroom as she led him over to the bed.

She went into the bathroom to get a small rag soaked in cold water. She entered the bedroom again, dabbing the rag onto his face. She leaned in so she wouldn’t fumbled with the rag

Velvet smirked “What a strange man you insist to be....” She giggled “Did puppy not get his treat?”

Void: ... shudduppppppppppppppppppp

“Besides, you seemed a bit eager when I said we were going in the bedroom. Why?” She looked at him curiously

Void: oooooooooooooooooooooooo*hic*ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh. uhh.... *sweats*

“C’mon, I wanna know! Don’t keep secrets from me!” She begged him, her eyes sparkling with desire for the truth

“Just tell me Void!” She came up closer to him, only around three inches separating their faces as she dabbed the rag to his cheek

Velvet pulled away from him, resting the rag on his forehead while covering him with blankets and turning on the ceiling fan. “Take a rest. I will be brewing some soup for you”

She turned back towards him before exiting, patting his head. “I’ll be right back, little puppy!” She giggled at the nickname she had given to him as she exited the room.

Void: *smiled, looking a bit more himself*

5 or so minutes later Velvet brought out a warm bowl of soup. She had it on a tray for him to use as an eating surface. “Here you are!” She smiles to him.

Void: thanks. *smiled back*

“Ah, you are starting to become sober, I see!” She Gave a slightly stern smile to him. “You got excited about entering a bedroom with me. Should I be concerned?”

Void: probably! I had waaay to much to drink.

“But either way.... I still want to know why you reacted like that” she felt a pang of hurt because he was hiding something from her.

Void: *sighed* lets put it this way. how children are made.

Velvet hesitated, thinking “How do children correspond with the situat-“ She stopped, her eyes going wide as a hard blush crept over her face. “V-V-Void-“

Void: I was really drunk okay?!

She slapped his face “Y-You idiot! W-Why would that thought even enter your mind anyways?!”

Her blushing only intensified as she bit her lip, fumbling with the bottom of her shirt

Void: IM SORRY OKAY?! Im sorry...

"Y-You're and i-idiot... V-Void..." She hesitated before sneaking fer face closer to his a little. "Y-You know I-I'm not o-one to find that f-funny..."

Void: I know Im a moron im sorry.

Velvet shook her head “ I-It’s alright.... y-you were d-drunk anyways....” she yawned, looking at the clock. After she got home from the local flower shop, it had already gotten late.

Void: *he had fallen asleep, curled up in a ball, looking more peaceful than any of his waking times.8

She looked at him with a sad smile, and started walking away so she could sleep on the couch

Void: *he whimpered in his sleep, curling up more*

She turned back to him, and patted his head with her paw. Her paw lightly traced over his face, just faintly, as she started off again

Void: *He freaked out, springing up, looking around wildly, breathing heavily*

Velvet, terrified of his sudden jolt, jumped in fear as the thick fur on her tail stood on end. Her wings tightened, and her ears angled down. “V-Void...?” She realized what happpened and came up to him quickly “Void! What happened?!” She gently took hold of his shoulders, coming close to him

Void: *he was shaking, his gaze unfocused, swaying slightly*

“V-Void, are you okay?” She gently shook his broad shoulders “Void, what happened?” She looked worried

Void: *he looked at her, still shaking. It was clear he was thinking about something that had happened in the past*

She gently hugged him, her chest s q u i s h i n g against his. “It’s ok. You can tell me”

Void: *he tried to calm down to speak. when he finally managed to, he said* g-gone.

Still clinging onto him, she whispered softly "What's gone?"

Void: Ash... *his voice broke with emotion*

She shuddered “W-Who’s Ash..?” She gently released him, sitting beside him on the bed

Void: A-Ashton. h-h-he let me call him Ash. *stared at the bed, almost in a trance*

Trembling at his pain, she slid her hand around his waist and pulled him in gently and slowly for him to lean on her. “It’s okay... I-I bet wherever he is, h-he’s safe”

Void: *he choked more* he's dead...

Velvet let out a tiny gasp as she bit her lip, hugging him from the side again. “He’s in a better place, and he’s still in here” She put her hand on his chest hesitantly, gently sliding it across his body

Void: *he closed his eyes tightly, as if he was trying not to cry*

“W-Would you like me to get some Z-Quil so you can sleep? You seem tired” She started loosening her grip, about to get up and off the bed. “By the way, tomorrow I might not be here because I’ll be at the flower shop with a friend. Me and him will only take a little while, so I might be back around 9 AM”

Void: some z-quil would be great if you don't mind... and i hope the flower shops doin' alright?

“Y-yeah, it is, actually” She forced a smile for his sake, slipping away from him. “Well, I hope you have a good night” She turned off the light, heading towards the door

Void: *he watched her leave*

As the door shut, a cold silence fell on the room. On the other side of the door, Velvet could be heard flopping down on the couch as she curled into a fluffy little ball in the cold, dark living room cushions

Void: *instantly fell asleep*

(Morning ig) Velvet woke at around 7 AM, sneaking into the bedroom past Void to get dressed. She found a mid-thigh length dress that was white with gray fringe. She slipped it on, accidentally bumping the wall loudly as she put it on over her head

Void: *he stirred slightly,, but didnt wake*

She slipped out again, taking her keys and a breakfast bar, and left the house

(Bro you have totally owned sleep by now) She drove out and towards her meeting place with her friend. The minutes ticked by, which soon became hours

On the kitchen countertop lie a plate of scrambled eggs and a sliced orange for Void left by Velvet

Void: *he stared at it. then smiled*

The orange seemed fresh as ever, and juicy as if it was bulging with orange juice. The eggs had some cheese melted into them, and it had bits of pepper sprinkled on it. It was still steaming.

Void: *he took a seat, eating it toughtfully*
