On a foggy night, in the clearing of the now empty, cold and dull forest sat 16 ghostly cats, all waiting for the next leader of a new clan. "She's coming!" Birchfur, a white and black spotted shecat with forest green eyes mewled, shifting onto her feet. The other cats pricked their ears as they heard the soft pawsteps of the new cat.

Each one of them turned their heads to see a small, gray-furred apprentice, a look of pure curiosity in their eyes. "Where... am I? Is this a dream?" They ask. Birchfur, Halftail, and SandCluster all beckoned the apprentice forward. The small kit nods and walks into the middle of the clearing. A strong gust of wind blows by the apprentice, nearly toppling them over as Birchfur walks closer. "You are tasked with an important mission. On the day you receive your warrior name," Birchfur starts, her eyes glimmering with hope. "you will guide all cats that are unable to follow your clan as they move to different territory to a more safe, warm place. Do you accept your destiny?" She asks. "I...I do!" The young gray tom happily chirps.

The shecat smiles warmly as she touches her nose with the apprentice. A soft feeling overcomes the small cat as his fur bristles, the howl of a wolf disrupts their moment as they look at the moon. "The..clan...will be mine?" the tom asks. "After some training, my dear. Just be patient." Birchfur purrs.
