When I use them cause I think of them as a nonbinary thing, they don't really have a gender to me, nothing really has a gender to me unless its legit gender.
I say bro and dude all the time but sometimes ill say it to a girl and they’ll be like “uh im a GIRL”. Because same as you, I dont see the two having any gender
