Linkyee!
I was thinking of a book called 'Brave new world' and a movie called 'the giver' Both have a utopian world. “utopia” is a society or community setting wherein the people experience the ideal and most perfect life possible. IN the book everyone has their assigned colors and the brighter colors like red and blue are smarter and high in authority but the dark colors like grey and black are dumber and have low authority. In the movie once the teens graduate, they are given a specific role/job and they have that role or job for the rest of their life. they have certain rules in these Utopian worlds and if you break them they banish you or have you disappeared/killed.

So in my opinion the giver is dystopia not a utopia
This is due to the "ideal" life forced by the government
The people have no control and know nothing outside of what they do
Dystopian books are characterized as societies with a repressed, controlled and restricted system with multiple social controls put into place via government or people in power
They are commonly seen as utopias in universe but the main characters typically take those "utopias" and show the flaws in the system
Some good Dystopian books in my opinion are hunger games, and divergent, and one other I'm forgetting the name of
