Adrian: Well there are are plenty other non-purebreds out there as well, and besides, they have pageants for non-purebreds, they just aren't as widely known. Besides, being purebred isn't the best life. Constant health checkups, collapsing lungs, failing kidneys, more vulnerable to disease - so many things to worry about just so you can be pretty.
