ok ok so this is who people refer to as “Athena”. I’m not stating her actual name until I end up committing to writing the damn series. Literally nobody knows her actual name. At least, not anymore. She ended up massacring her family when she had just turned 13 after being told by both her parents “today is your special day, you can do whatever you like!”. To say in the least, she had a pretty deranged mind. So really, no name. Birth certificate? She’s already burned it. She doesn’t celebrate her birthday as a celebration of getting older, but she needs it as a warning to how much time she has left to gather followers (or, in this anim, she calls acolytes). I plan on introducing her entirely later in the books, but when she is, she’ll be known as the core of a brutal religion based on judgment and decision, and she acts as the intense sociopathic diety.

Along with her being a big ol sociopath, she also has severe schizophrenia. She believes she carrying out duties assigned to her by an all knowing being that is described to be more capable than the God that half the human population believes in (which drastically declined over the years). This elaborate system caused by a disorder in this insane person has convinced entire hopeless towns to follow her leadership. She now lives in a fortress with all her (housed) followers on the edge of the desert, approx. 320 miles away from the Resistance stronghold. Her method of supporting her acolytes are through heavy surveillance and food rationing. You must have a permit to be able to farm crops and/or livestock. Farms would be watched over by rotating sets of soldiers, 3 at a time rotated in 4 hour intervals. There were many soldiers, for residents were urged to take part in the military (especially men, but the female leader never doubted the potential of womenfolk).

So, to sum it up, she’s a very mentally I’ll leader of a society who follow her because they believe her claimed religion. I’ll make another post sometime describing the religion itself with a drawing of the grand shrine in the fortress.
