LinkMallow inherited the role of protector of the independent city from her mother, and that role comes with many responsibilities— yeah, she’s basically a princess, but a city council helps her out. She had to grow up fast, and as a result, is mature for her age but also finds it hard to relax and have fun. Her city has had to relocate twice by the end of the war, so she’s been busy.
Peggy-Sue stayed on the family farm and the war didn’t even reach her family. Sure, her older brother Rocko left to be a soldier, but she wasn’t very affected. She’s upbeat, flirty, and always finding a way to make life fun!
Spring introduces the two to each other, and Peggy-Sue is immediately interested. Mallow, however, is not impressed, as they don’t have much in common. Peggy-Sue sticks around though. She helps Mallow get out more and start to have fun again. She listens to Mallow talk even if she doesn’t understand everything. As they become closer, Mallow helps Peggy-Sue become more grounded and considerate of others.

LinkOk, so I’m just a sucker for the opposites attract and flirty x serious tropes. So what, it’s always cute. Anyway, I think Mallow-Sue is more of a first relationship kind of deal, and I’m not sure yet how they’ll both grow up. Will they stay together? Will they be better as friends? Maybe they’ll have an on-and-off situation? These two have so many potential stories in their dynamic!
