LinkHe was my goat, and now he's acting like a Debbie downer. He's still my goat, but he's getting fire bc he said that he's the best and animation is a net negative

LinkHe must be breaking down mentally, but I know that those words are somewhat what he believes. I hope he can go back instead contradicting his past
His concerns about the commercialized side of animation clashing against our more truthful values of storytelling and artistry are definitely real
It's just that Weilin doesn't recognize these issues with the market to be ultimately attached to problems in our systems; political, economical, and socially. He is definitely conceited in the sense that he believes it is the fault of the individuals for perpetuating the crunch cultures and damaging practices today
Animation has always been at a net negative because the industry has been built on overworked and underpaid labor
And Weilin calling himself the best animator is him trying to bring acknowledgement to his position as a highly acclaimed storyteller in the field that advocates against these very net negatives
Even though he despises the current state, he feels its practically his duty to try and fix it
But because he is viewing the issues to such a small frame on the big picture---he's definitely tearing the teamwork and importance of connection apar
