when people vent are they hoping to be heard or are they attempting to privately scream their feelings
Exactly. And venting back to them about YOUR struggles makes them feel like you’re just using them so they can make it about themselves.

I mean does it really hurt to just listen instead of using someone's bad day as a chance to tell them about their own
as someone who has done it before it's my attempt at bonding and showing empathy like "dude we're in the same boat rn" but idk im autistic so maybe i got it wrong
I’m also autistic but sometimes autistic people misunderstand each other
