They ran to the cabins where the disoriented blue team rushed to begin. Campers were throwing on armour and the few that were already equipped ran to defend their flag.
Annabeth looked up at Grover. A serious expression was on her face. “Stay behind me. Today I sent a kid 6 years older than me to the infirmary.” She smiled kindly. “This should get your mind off of things.”
Athena pulled a baseball cap out of her pocket and was gone. But- her laughter could be heard subtly under the clatter of swords and shrieks of excitement.
A small son of Hermes ran toward Luke and Grover. “They got our flag!!!! Red got it- Where is theirs? “
Annabeth comes from behind a tree, flag in hand. “Catch Grover!” She threw the flag to him. “You’re fast with Your hooves!”
Everyone stopped fighting. Cheers and boos rang out around camp. Annabeth sprinted over to Grover and gave him a quick hug. “Amazing!! You did it!!!!” A smile spread across her face. “Clarrise had better not underestimate Satyrs anymore.”
Clarrise sneered. She stomped forward while brushing dust off of herself.
Shockingly, she reached out her hand to Grover.
“Good game.” She spat. “Even catching you guys off guard didn’t do anything.”
Clarrise gripped wAAAAy too hard, nearly crushing his hand and quickly turned away, yelling at her team.
“ That’s the nicest I’VE ever seen her. Huh.” Annabeth mumbled
