ummm no! i dont think so but i think its the simplest aka easiest 2 understand (when using the same technique to get the yellowish colour against the blue for other colours)
There isn't exactly a special name for it, it's just analogous colors based on the color wheel. They often are next to each other on the color wheel. Much like yellow is next to green so green can appear as yellow because it's so close to it's color combination.
Or perceiving color a certain way as perceiving green as yellow can also be called perception simultaneous contrast.
Another thing to consider is seeing it's complementary color against a white canvas versus putting it in a blue light would make people perceive it a different way. It's just basically how the eyeball perceives color
