My bf is an Italian NYer, they definitely sound like this. If your character is a first gen immigrant though, its a little different of an accent. More like Mario how he ads "-a" to the end of words a lot hahah, throw in some Italian phrases/insults too. I knew a native Italian who would call tomato sauce "pizza dressing" haha. My bf says "red sauce" Its weird to me.
He's like, a generation or two after immigration, dispite his foster dad being hispanic
