So I’m just gunna say what I normally do- so this is mainly how I do it, and what I’ve mainly seen what works- do note that I absolutely suck when it comes to certain things that require more emotional solutions, so these are more of logically thinking ways to do it-

So, I’d say one of the biggest things, Is to sound confident. Even if you aren’t confident, make it seem like you are. If you’re confident in yourself, the other person should be confident in you aswell. Get as much information as possible. Try and figure out what exactly is bugging them. Because it’s hard to solve a problem when you don’t even know the problem. Try and put yourself in their shoes. Try and see the world from their perspective. This can allow for you to identify what might be causing them to think the way they think, and how to potentially “correct” (I say that because of a lack of a better term) how they see it, so they can see it in a better light, Remind them of the good. Remind them of what good they can do, along with what good can come to them. Try and show them the light that’s been made from the dark. And try to show them what’s good about themselves. If you don’t understand something, even after being told the problem, try to understand it, and if you can’t, then understand

-That you can’t go off what you don’t know, so try and go off what you atleast do know.

I would say a final one would to try and be as accepting as possible, but don’t be wishy-washy and say you agree just to agree. Agree with what you do agree with, understand that some things cannot be helped, and try to see if you can find someplace you agree, even if you disagree.

But that’s all a little over-generalized, and it’s a little more complex then that, but that’s all I got for now
