Linkyou got an invite to a formal dance by the king and queen of the kingdom you live in. attending, you look around and see people in beautiful, fancy clothing... especially the royal siblings, wearing some of the nicest white clothes that no regular villager would dream of wearing... one of them approaches you after a small while of eye contact. it was the princess, Alis.

Personality
she's kind and somewhat outgoing, she speaks softly most of the time and if her voice ever raises you should be a little scared for your life

Jeske blinked in surprise- he bowed quickly
"ah-! n-no need for that, sir..." she looked quite surprised "i really shouldn't even be over here...."
“Just because you’re over here doesn’t change your status-“ he smiled at her
"ah...." she smiled slightly "i guess.... well-" she was cut off by a guard who walked behind her
"Alis..... you shouldn't be here. you should be standing next to Christian" their voice was calm, but a little frustrated
the guard looked at jeske "and what room do you have in this conversation? she may have walked over, but she knows what's against her father's will and what isn't"
"yes. And that's to stand next to her brother at the moment" they looked at him a bit sternly "her parents are trying to find her a fitting prince to marry"
“But she also should have a choice of who she hangs out with. Being told what to do all the time is exhausting- and not good for anyone’s mental health
alis was looking at the floor, tears slightly beginning to pool in her eyes. "she's doing just fine. her parents know what's best for her, not someone like yourself" the guard started to sound angrier
“ what if they don’t? She’s clearly is upset. Being royal is a full time job- she doesn’t get a break. Just- let it slide. Just this once
alis pulled off one of her white, lace gloves, putting her hand up to her nose. the guard looked annoyed, then leaned over, closer to alis and muttered something in her ear, leaving soon after
"thanks..." she grabbed it softly, some blood running down her face after she moved her hand out of the way
"it happens a lot so im not worried..." she was holding the napkin up to her nose, a small area soon becoming very read
she kept the napkin on her nose "it's ok! i don't need any more, really"
she looked quite calm "oh, ok.... then please hand me one more" she spoke softly
"when i'm extremely nervous, yes" she grabbed the other one softly
"n-no! it's not you..." she swapped the tissues quickly and carefully
"i'm just under a lot of pressure. with- um- needing to get married to someone, and all...."
“Ah. Unnecessary royal drama. “ he smiled softly. “Mind if I take you out into the city- away from this
"my parents would be extremely angry at me.... i think that the farthest from this room i'd be allowed to, is my bedroom" she looked slightly sad
“They don’t need to know” he smiled softly- offering her his metal hand
"i-... alright" her expression was calmer now, and her nose had stopped bleeding
she softly took it after wiping off her bloody hand and putting her glove back on
she walked with him, doing her best to not get her white dress dirty
she walked with him, still trying to keep the bottom of her dress clean
she looked at the wondrous place in front of her as she looked at the carnival
“It’s a carnival-“ he explained- the warm smell of roasted cheasnuts filling the air
He handed her some. “Try it. It’s covered in sugars and cinnamon - a little bit of honey too
she gasped with excitement as she took the ones that he handed her
she popped one in her mouth and ate it, her eyes widening "this is amazing!"
"i-.. it's alright, just caught me by surprise" she chuckled nervously
she was looking at the ground, clearly a little embarrassed, as she fiddled with her hair
He smiled at her “do you want to try some of the games?”’nervois
He congratulated her- and well- he tried to impress her with his strength at the hammer but only got halfway
she smiled excitedly and walked over to the hammer and picked it up with the slightest struggle
she swung it with all her might, and managed to get further than him by a little bit
(this short @$$, 4'8", MFer just showed his @$$ what real strength looks like)
"heh-" she smiled and rubbed the back of her neck
"you're just too embarrassed to admit defeat" she crossed her arms
"'as if' nothing, you're afraid to lose, aren't you?" she smiled
"ok then" she shrugged "i'll just hit it again, beating you by a long-shot"
"aren't you afraid i'm gonna break your arm?" she chuckled teasingly
when alis opened her eyes she was looking right behind him, a scared expression on her face
a small group of guards stood behind him, including the one from earlier
He swallowed. “Ah. Well- if I die will you bring me flowers? I like daisies. “
a man pushed through the guards. it was the prince, Christian, Alis's younger brother. "alis.... sister... why are you here..." his voice was a bit deep, he looked down at his older sister as he stood in front of her
“It’s my fault- she wasn’t looking too well so I brought her here to cheer her up. “

christian turned his head to look at jeske. his expression was a blank smile, dead inside yet still joyous seeming. his green eyes almost seemed to have no light in them

"Christian.... please, don't do anything! i know that look!" alis sounded desperate and scared. christian turned his head back to alis "oh, dear sister, i'd never...." his tone was annoyed, and un-sincere
“If you need to punish someone- punish me. Not her. “ he said softly. Then he smirked- in clasping his shoulder. “I’ll give you my arm-“
"and i don't want your life either...." his tone was cold. Alis looked at the two of them, worried
he turned around fully and looked at the guards "leave" soon after he said that, the small group left. alis walked in front of jeske, putting her arms out to the sides to keep him safe
he looked at alis, having a cold expression. alis stood her ground in front of jeske "don't hurt him-"
"then, riddle me this... why'd you leave with him..." christian asked calmly. "to get away-.... from... from you!" alis sounded angry
christian leaned over, closer to alis "what do you see in him...."
alis backed up a little, too nervous to speak. "hm-...." christian stood there, towering over alis
“Give the woman some space- she clearly is uncomfortable “ slightly annoyed
he shoved his sister out of the way, and she fell over and onto her bottom, landing with a small grunt
Jeske stared in shock-“what is your problem?!” He snapped- then offered a hand to her to help her up
alis sat there helplessly, as christian grabbed jeske's wrist, and turned jeske around to face him
"why so angry?" he sounded annoyed, yet he had a smile on his face
“You asshole!” He hissed. “Why the hell did you do that? She didn’t deserve that at all!”
"you're so desperate to help her.... what do you see that gives you that mindset?"
“She was miserable - I just- really want her to be happy. She deserved a break. “
"that sounds like such a joke" he laughed "you're both helpless, i see"
"then this isn't either" he took his glove off and punched jeske in the chest, it was a solid punch but not hard enough to possibly break anything
He wheezed- stumbling a few steps back. But he didn’t fall. He glared at Christian. “Is that all you got. “
he smiled putting his glove back on "it'd be un-princely of me to fight a civilian....."
"well, you're both helpless... so why should i give a sh^t" christian chuckled, an annoyed tone in his laugh
she sat up normally, looking at the ground. every now and then, slight sniffling could be heard from her, as she put one of her hands up to her face
christian had left the two and went back to the castle. alis was shaking a little, she was crying
"h-he's righ-right...." she sniffled as she gasped for air through her tears
“No- you’re not. Heck- you’re stronger than I am - in more ways than just physical strength
“He’s a jerk. And there’s always that one person you can’t. But- it seemed to me you were standing up to him. “ he hugged her
"i'm fine though....." she wiped her eyes, and started trying to stand up
"wh-where...." she looked up at him, tears streaming down her face
her head jolted upright and she looked at him "alright" she nodded slightly
“Either my home or a hotel- unless you want to go back to the palace
He took her hand and took her to his home- a cozy medium sized townhouse
she tilted her head a little, smiling slightly, bringing the plush closer to her
"ah- alright.... you've got a lot of stuffed animals" she smiled
she nodded "if you're going to drop these off to him, want me to go with you?"
"hm-.... oh, i didn't realize i was still holding it" she chuckled softly "it's for your nephew, i won't keep it" she set it down
she sighed "i'm so glad that you brought me away from that party" she stretched
"it's alright though!" she sounded quite cheerful "no one was going to even TRY and keep me company"
she shrugged "there was just a small part of me that wanted a really nice person to maybe ask for a dance"
her eyes widened a little and she blushed slightly, she then nodded chuckling slightly and softly
she smiled happily, even though she was starting to feel a little bit tired
not me wanting it to be a ship.... no of course not 😳
alis was extremely calm as she was dancing with jeske, her bright, green eyes seeming to be full of light

His icy blue eyes never left hers- smiling softly

she sighed softly, being at peace
He danced with her for a bit longer then asked her if she wanted to be done
"i guess i am getting a little tired" she chuckled softly "i have had a long day..."

she hesitated for a while, just standing there
The room was cute and there were a lot of pillows and there was a little dog stuffed animal
she looked in the room, her eyes slightly wide and a soft smile on her face "it reminds me of my room" she said softly "thank you" she hugged jeske
she blushed slightly but then kissed his cheek lightly and briefly, then walked into the room quickly, feeling embarrassed
she quickly ran back over, and closed the door, her face was bright red
she looked around to see if there was anything that she could change into, as she didn't want to wear her dress to bed
He had his clothes in there- he had given her his room because it was his best room
There was a cozy tank tops and sorts. He had a lot of tank tops.
it took her a second, but she finally realized where she was "do you think that a storm of guards will open the doors to every house in the area just to find me-?" she looked slightly spooked
her hair was still in the braids from yesterday, just really messy
"i normally keep my hair in braids 'cause it's so long, but, alright. do you have a pair of scissors?" she looked at him
"the bands hurt to pull off, so i normally use scissors to cut them off" she explained
“Ah- give me one second-“ the toast popped out of the toaster. He caught it above the toaster- scared to touch the metal box and put the bread on his plate. Then he went to get scissors
she took the scissors "thank you- uhm, sure" she grabbed the end of one of her braids and put the scissors under the clear hair band, snipping it off
she snipped off the other hair band, in the other braid. she then set the scissors on the counter, and brushed out her braids with her fingers
she didn't notice that he was looking at her, and she kept brushing out her hair
He hummed softly. Then he realized she was wearing his clothes. He blushed deeply and looked away
she just kept brushing out her hair with her fingers. she almost tore out a small knot in her hair and she squeaked slightly, in a little bit of pain
she took the comb from him softly, and started combing out the knots
she just kept combing her hair, her hair was past her hands so it took a while to brush out fully
she looked over to see what he was doing "oooh, those look really good"she smiled
she smiled "when're you done with them?" she asked in her usual soft tone
her expression lit up as she took the plate softly "may i please get a fork?" she smiled slightly
He chucked. “Of course-“ he took two from a drawer and handed one to her
she cut a small piece out of the toast, with her fork, and ate it. she smiled happily

her arms still wrapped around him, she lightly gripped the back of his shirt, clearly not wanting to leave
she almost immediately looked down again, moving some of her hair out of her face
she hesitated for a while, then kissed his cheek quickly yet softly, she then looked at the floor again
"hm-?!" her face was bright red "what-" her voice was somewhat squeaky and high pitched, but in a hushed tone

she was hitting her forehead lightly with her fist over and over again, saying negative things about herself and what everyone might think of her
she looked at the floor "alright..." she was slightly audible, clearly too flustered to say much
she looked up at him, her green eyes wide. she then took a deep breath, shutting her eyes, and she kissed him. when she pulled away her eyes shot open and looked down at the floor

alis smiled softly. there was a loud, firm knock at the front door

“I’ll take care of it-“ he promised- whispering- walking to the door

she nodded, looking a little scared. there were two more firm knocks at the door
there was a guard standing in the doorway "hello..." they spoke in a deep monotone voice. alis dashed off another room with the scissors, scared
"yes, yes there is." they nodded "we have multiple reasons to suspect that you're harboring the princess within your household"
“ I am. And your point is?” He leaned against the wall. “She doesn’t want to go back to the castle. And that is her choice. Not yours.
"you're aware that it's a criminal offence to harbor her, correct? if you value your life, then you'd bring her here"
“ I value her life over mine. “ he said simply. “You assholes have no respect for her whatsoever.
alis came up behind jeske. the guard saw her "princess alis? what happened to you?"
Jeske looked at Alis capmly. His life was in her hands now. And he knew it
her hair was significantly shorter than when he had last seen her. it was past her finger tips, and now it lands above her elbows. "what happened to your hair?" the guard asked, a little worried sounding. "i cut it-" alis spoke calmly, even though she was clearly nervous
"if you wouldn't mind... i'd like it if you gave my mother a quick message-" she walked up to the guard and told them something, making sure that jeske didn't hear her.
alis backed away "tell her that.... and that exactly, don't twist my words to better fit any ideals. and don't tell her what you know she wants to hear" the guard nodded slightly, looked at jeske with a small glare, then left.
"uhm...." she looked at the floor "i was basically telling my mother not to worry, and that i might not return" she was leaving something out, and it was clear that she was, but she just didn't want to talk about it
she hugged him back "she'll probably be quite happy in a way..."
she blushed a little, biting her lip slightly, a bit nervous to tell him
"uhm..... it's nothing!" she smiled nervously and chuckled nervously
she hugged him back "at least she'll be happy to've heard from me" she smiled slightly
"i wonder how Christian's doing...." her expression fell slightly
"yes, but..... he's still my brother.... and i do care about him" she looked at the floor
she tilted her head slightly "alright." she nodded slightly "my mother would love you if she met you. she'd probably say that you're an amazing and kind person, and say how brave you are for standing up to the guards and my brother both"
"for you to tell me what you paused saying to change your topic" she narrowed her eyes slightly
“Ahah-“ he laughed nervously. “Or you could just forget about that. Do you like Mario cart?
“I’m not lying I’m just dancing around the truth. I should charge my arms. Yes.
"exactly. you're still lying to be realistic here." alis smirked slightly "i'll tell you what i avoided if you tell me what you're avoiding!"
"fine... i was also telling my mom about you, and how you're no prince but you'll treat me better than any prince could... it's not that embarrassing, i guess, but i wasn't just going to say that to someone who wasn't trying to marry me off" she crossed her arms, blushing a bit as she looked at the floor
He blushed deeply- smiling wide. “I was goiGn to say I love you.
she kissed him "i was going to say the same..." she was barely audible as she smiled
she hugged him "you said something about your arms, go do that" she smiled at him
“Ah… “ he paused. “It’s not easy- but it’s better than not having any arms. For a while after the accident- my skin was super sensitive- the nurses had to do everything for me. I was so pathetic… however- once I had gotten used to being armless the hospital did a procedure to instal the arm sockets- then - the arms. It was incredible. If anything it is more convenient this way. But I have to charge them occasionally.
“ a knighting ceremony gone wrong. I had such a big head… “ he scoffed. “I didn’t care about the pain. But the blade went too far. Good thing void saw them and stopped before the head….” He laughed softly
"oh.... that's terrible.... who's void? if you don't mind me asking" she had a sympathetic expression
she nodded "there was a person like that in my life as well. we barely knew each other, then after a small fiasco, i never saw them again. still don't know what happened to'em"
"but, hey, at least you made it out of that experience alive" she smiled softly
her head was resting on his shoulder, but it was closer to his neck and his collar bone than where his missing arm is
she nuzzled her head into his chest before she zonked out, smiling
(girly needs a nap. now she can get one on a comfy armless pillow! :D
"i really needed that nap... thank you for not moving" she gave him a small smile
"i don't either..." she sighed "and i have no idea of what i want to personally do either. theres always planning ahead of time"
"yeah. but it's not always fun, nor a surprise" she sighed resting her head on jeske's shoulder
"even that party last night was planned. my parents thought of it a month before they set it into motion"
"yeah... they plan a lot. it gets somewhat annoying at times" she chuckled slightly
"but the worst part is that they always tell me! and a lot of the time i get constant reminders of an event" she sighed dramatically
"but now i can finally be surprised! like i was last night" she smiled slightly
"the ✨carnival✨!" she said carnival in a way that made it sound like the best place ever
He giggled. “Want to go again tonight? It’s being moved next week-“
she gasped "really!?" her voice was somewhat squeaky and high-pitched

Jeske- the poor man- was trying to put on a suit to meet the queen but his arms kept getting jammed in the fabric
He looked over at her. He couldn’t get his dress shirt on- wrinkled and caught in his gears
"hm..." she pulled up on the fabric to get it out of the gears, once she got it out of the gears she pulled the fabric out and pulled the bottom of the sleeve down
she nodded, smiling "all you need to do is pull the fabric out before it can get caught, then pull down the sleeve. and repeat that process until done" she smiled at him "you want me to help with the other arm?"
she walked over to the other arm and did the same thing that she did before with the first arm, smiling
she walked out with him "no need to be nervous! it's only my parents" she shrugged slightly
"oh you'll be fine.... like i said, my parents'll love you" she smiled at him
"have i been wrong about things so far? no. you're gonna be fine!" she reassured him
"you're going to be just fine! now c'mon" she began walking in the direction of the castle
she walked into the front door with jeske when they got to the castle
she asked where her parents were, and was told that they were eating lunch at the moment. so she went to the dining room, with jeske ofc
she walked up to her parents and her brother, holding jeske's hand
Jeske held her hand - looking up at the royal family- heart racing
"mom, dad." she hesitated then mumbled "christian..." she spoke normally "this is Jeske. he let me sleep at his house last night, and uh-" her mother interrupted her "ah! you're the boy that alis told me about through a guard! aren't you?" she seemed happy
alis's mother stood up, she was 6'2" at her tallest, she smiled at jeske and grabbed one of his hands
Ah voids an inch taller than her. Jeske however is smaller.
He looked at her- nervous

she slightly nodded, holding jeskes hand up a little "it's alright, no need to be nervous" she spoke in a calm, soft tone "after all, you can consider yourself as part of the family now" she smiled softly
christian looked at jeske, a dead expression on his face. alis's mother nodded, letting go of his hand "take care of her and yourself"
“I promise. I’ll do whatever I can to make sure she is safe and happy.
christian looked at jeske with a stern glare "we'll see about that-" he was barely even audible
“ what do mean-“ he asked- staring into Christians eyes intensely
alis stood there, kinda nervous. her mother smiled softly "i hope so."

alis looked at christian, expecting him to say something. he looked at her for a quick second then looked away
he clearly looked upset, but he didn't say anything about it. alis smiled at him softly then looked at jeske, then at her parents "we should get going now... i don't want to be a bother just standing here, not knowing what to do"
"alright" her mother nodded "see you soon, my little almond" she waved alis a goodbye as she walked away with jeske
while she was walking to her room she paused and looked at jeske "it's just a nickname my parents gave me. i think it suits me quite well, if i'm being honest"

after a short while she came back with a cute apple hat on and a cat in her arms

"this is elken" she held out the cat, the bell on it's collar jingling slightly
elken purred in jeske's arms, a very happy kitty indeed. alis smiled at the two "c'mon. lets get going"
alis chuckled softly "well yes, but no. he's purring" she said with a smile
elken got startled and jumped in jeske's arms. "it just is!" she reassured him "it's nothing to freak out over"
"well-" she sighed "the vibrations are part of the purring that a cat naturally does" she explained, a small smile on her face
she took elken out of jeske's arms and held elken close "because he's my cat, and i've owned other cats before him. i'm pretty positive that cats don't explode" she giggled softly, whispering back
she smiled. when they got back to jeske's place, alis set elken down to let him sniff the area and get used to it
alis followed elken as he followed jeske, she clearly didn't see that elken was following him
she looked up, to see where exactly her cat was going, and her eyes trailed off to look at jeske, whom she spotted out of the corner of her eye
His shoulders were mostly metal but he was pretty muscular- his abs defined. He paused- looking for the right color then chose a teal tank top
her eyes widened as she leaned against the door frame, sighing quietly
He paused- his head whipping to look at her. He turned bright red.
she looked at the floor "i- uh.... uhm, i was j-just following Elken b-blindly..."
“Ah-“ he looked at the cat. “I mean- we are dating though - right? It’s not wrong for you to see me like this. Or stare
the jingle on eklens collar came up next to jeske, as the cat was walking up to him
“You’re a little trouble maker aren’t you-“ he asked a petting the cats head
alis touched her nose to elken's "little attention hog" she chuckled
