"CYAN!" a familiar voice hollers. " ITS THE DAY OF THE PROPHECY! "
"five more minutes..."
" DON'T MAKE ME COME IN THERE!!! "
"*sigh* fine..."
I step out of bed, grumbling. Everyone is outside, looking at the tree of life. Everyone is whispering. No one could hear each other.
Now, what is the prophecy you ask? Well... Let me explain. Many years ago, a calender was discovered. a letter was also found. The calender marked the eighth day of summer, this year. The letter said,
"The eighth day of summer,
Six will be chosen.
Their power will be proven
As one is lost
And one changes for the better."
We assumed that the tree of life would choose the six.
" Settle down, shapes. " the mayor speaks into the microphone. "The clock is about to strike 9:00. The prophecy will come true.
The whispers begin to grow louder.
DONG-DONG!!! The clock strikes 9:00. The tree starts to glow.
I was secretly hoping it would be me. I always wanted to be important.
But I knew it wouldn't be me. If anything, it would be Cubie. He's perfect. He knows how to fight. He's smart. It's him and I know it.
I looked over.
Cubie was on the ground unconscious. Shapes were screaming. Then my ears started ringing. My peripheral vision turned white. Then everything went black.
I woke up a while later with Cubie leaning over me, tears streaming down his face.
"It's us. We are the chosen ones."
CHAPTER TWO
Cubie had a heart floating by his chest. It was pastel blue. I looked down, and I had one too. Mine was dark blue and very shiny.
" What- Why-"
"I don't know why the prophecy chose us, but it was clearly for a reason."
I was happier than I'd ever been, but that one line...
"One will be lost..."
" Where did everyone else go? "
"They're inside. Some are calming down."
" do you know anyone else who got chosen? "
"I did hear that the boat that stays by the land got chosen."
" Laguna? "
"Yeah! That guy! He's really nice too."
" Do you know where he is now? "
" Probably still by the lake. "
"Let's go chat with him!"
" Sure! "
We walked down to the lake and we spotted him. He had a turquoise heart hovering by his chest as well.
"Hey! I'm Cyan!" I said as I sat down next to him. He smiled and said, " I'm Laguna. So you're a chosen one as well? "
" Yeah... "
"Um... Do you want to see something cool?"
" S-sure! "
Laguna raised his arm and the lake turned perfectly clear. You could see all the animals swimming around like they were flying in mid air. Then the water shot up and soaked all three of us.
"Did you like it?"
