James is a male plague doctor. The blood protruding from his eye is from... *ahem* taking care of the patients who cannot be cured. The reason he doesn't clean it off is because the costume was made to distract patients from what the doctors were doing, so he leaves the blood there to help. He can be creepy, not just because he has the blood under his eye, but because he behaves in some odd ways. He hesitates to put any tools (needles, mainly) down, like he is attached to them. He speaks in quiet, shaky whispers, unless he's talking to a large crowd.
