People see it as different things. I only see it as a insult. And the only reason I could think of at the moment is that people back then used to call gay people "queer" as an insult and things similar to that.

Christian used to be use as a insult to god’s followers and ppl still use it and don’t see it as a slur and plus just say it’s offensive or something slur is kinda excessive

I've never called it a slur lol. Also I mean words change. Queer can change in the future just for now I'm going to take it as a insult. Others may not and that's perfectly fine
