So, The world discovered that some humans had been born with gemstones lodged into their bodies. Some of these children were taken by multiple governments at or near birth. Its suspected that a more intelligent race implemented these gemstones. Matt was witnessed the death of his parents at a very young age, and would eventually become leader of the gem humans, and wage war on the normal humans.
he traveled the world to obtain gem-kind's most powerful weapons.

the golden boots, which would grant the wearer the ability to walk on air for a short time, and incredible speed,
and the soul shield, a shield that can protect over 100 people from any attack.
His original diamond eye turned into a broken heart when he wittnessed his best friend, a jasper, whom are known for their incredible strength and size, killed on the battlefield, he also turned pink and hasn't turned back since.
he was in battle, defending everything he loved, when he found kioko, a girl his age whom had gotten lost in the battle. instead of killing her, he took her to the gem fortress, were he promised that she would be returned home. She spent a week there, getting to know the young leader and warrior, and when it was time for her to go, she turned around...

Matt looked at her in shock, Unable to understand why she wanted to stay. He asked her "Why?... Why would you wanna stay with the enemy of your people? Why not return home?"
she looked at him with a smile, and walked over.
