Berrycream, Journal Entry 1, Day 1 I dont know what happened. I had been growing my strawberries and picked out the ripe ones and the rotten when I felt something writhing on my hoof. It looked like some sort of maggot or worm larva, a squishy outter skin and sharp teeth. I started my way to the area where I dispose of bugs like these, but i felt it crawling up my arm and out of instinct I shook it, hoping that it wouldn't bite down on me but... it did. I was too slow to take it off when I saw two little wounds on my arm. The blood had slightly stained my coat, but it didn't matter much. I quickly disinfected it and wrapped it with gauze.

After, I grabbed my basket full of fresh strawberries and started for Crispy's bakery. Normally, most of my fresh batches of berries would go to them! They loved my fresh berries and would make all sorts of treats. "These look riper than the last ones!" She chirped as I placed them on the counter, but I could see her eyeing the small bandage. She smiled before putting them away in one of her cabinets. I perfer not to write all of our conversation, but...she had told me something worrying. "Didja know that one of the citizens in ManeHatten got infected with some sort of weirdo disease? It was kind of like a fungus, apparently it came from a maggot larva!" She laughed, acting like it was another one of the silly hoaxes that were constantly spread around OrchidOrchers. I felt a shiver go down my spine. I desperately hoped, and still hope that...that little grub that had bit me wasn't what had that "Virus." Or that any of the berries I gave her didnt have it either.
