“Shhh, she’s opening her eyes!” A tiny wolf pup slowly opened her eyes. Everything seemed blinding to her but she could at least make out two figures near her. She winced as the light stabbed her eyes and took a while to adjust. “She has beautiful green eyes like you!”, a deep male voice breathed in amazement. The male wolf nuzzled the black female wolf gently, full of love. The small wolf pup gazed up at the male wolf. “This has to be my father”, she thought quietly to herself. Her father seemed huge compared to her. The small wolf pup nuzzled into her mother’s chest taking in the scent of comfort, safety, and shelter. “Have you decided on a name yet?” The male wolf looked at his mate thoughtfully. The female wolf looked down at the pup sadly and replied, “No, not yet..” The male wolf nuzzled her and reassured her, “There’s always another day to name her..” The female wolf thought silently for a moment and confidently barked, “Her name will be Jet.” The male wolf looked at her stunned.

“A perfect name for a perfect daughter. I will go hunting now, keep our daughter safe, Storm.” Storm nodded and licked Jet, cleaning the dirt off of her. Jet growled in displeasure and nuzzled deeper into Storm’s chest. Satisfied, Storm sighed and laid her head down closing her eyes to fall into darkness. Storm opened her eyes to another dimension. “Hello? Is anybody there?”, she called before her wings were caught by a bird. She whimpered as talons gripped her wings harder until a wing ripped and she fell into a dark hole no longer able to breath. She snapped her eyes open and gasped for air. Storm realized it was only a dream and a patch of dirt from the top of the den had fallen on top of her head making it harder to breathe. She sighed and looked outside. 5 SUNSETS PASSED… Hello there! My name is Jet and I was born to very special parents! I call them Mother and Father but the other wolves have to call them Alpha and Beta.

The other pups say I’m too weak to be the pup of the leaders of the pack but they’re wrong. Oh yeah! I almost forgot! There’s still one more sunset until the “Brightest Blood Moon”! I’m super excited about the day since it is said that when the Brightest Blood Moon appears, the pups who are at least 6 sunsets old will be able to gain powers! I’m still wondering what power I’ll get, or even better powers. You must be wondering why many pups are willing to gain two powers. Well it’s simple, it’s extremely rare for a pup to gain two powers! They are known as the Gifted. If you get one ability then you are considered as a common and are known as the Powered! There’s also another possibility, the worst one yet. They are called the Powerless… The reason why they are the worst kind is in the name. You have no powers. But it’s okay! Father said that it’s IMPOSSIBLE for me to be a Powerless since I come from two Powered parents! I’m still wondering what power I’ll get! There are so many possibilities!

For example, Father has the ability to run faster than normal wolves usually run! I think his power is super cool and I also secretly wish to have his power. Don’t tell him that please. Oh and wish me luck! I have to go hunting with Father! He said he was going to teach me how to hunt! Hopefully I don’t fail! “Jet! Hurry up! Prey won’t wait for you if you’re this slow!” Oh that must be Father, talk to you guys later!
