LinkOK so my dad told me that when ppl get together, lust ALWAYS comes before love and i was just liek ..????????? no it doesnt i thought he was joking but he was very very serious abt it. so im wonderimg if thats a common way of thinking at all bc that, to me, is very much not true AT ALL. watching him process that fact looked like he just made a scientific breakthrough and it made me rlly wonder if its THAT uncommon to think that lust doesnt always come first .???
that is so honestly crazy to me . i mean i get that it CAN be the order it goes but for him to say it HAS to be that order js insane
Depends on how the relationship was formed but eventually it does shine through, usually as the driving force behind love
i think my main disbelief comes from how insistent he was that it HAS to come first or love just isnt possible. he even admitted that "yeah, they might be different" (refering to my aversion/little-to no sexual attraction) which he NEVER does when it comes to my identity
Aroace person here personally I think love comes first then lust but it is possible for loving relationships to first be formed through lust but that’s not the case for everyone
If ur dad thinks that’s how it is period he might(definitely is) be a little(very) stupid
It mostly depends on how u are as a person I think since everybody’s different like who knows there may be a secret third option
he thinks elon is an incredible genius who cant do anythinf wrong bc "hes autistc 😢 he was stimming" i think that shpuldve help me gauge how much i should trust his opinion on how love works for everyone
I'm also aroace and you unfortunately can't believe how many people have told me irl that the first thing they see in somebody is if their body is attractive to them before their whole person in general..
