kayden turned to look into the street, this wasnt exactly the safest neighborhood, he didnt intend to get caught up in anything but it was best to keep a look out for dangerous faces

kayden glanced at Roy, making sure to keep to the shadows

kayden watched closely, putting out his cigarette just in case

"two big guys against a twig seems hardly fair, now does it?" kayden asked, glaring at the two guys

kayden steps out of the shadows, dropping his cigarett. "you really wanna find out?"

kayden looked to roy in shock, he had never met a bird kid like him. knowing he needed to think fast he dropped his hoodie and spread his own wings

kayden gave the goons a look that was sure to frighten them before soaring after roy. "your such an idiot!" he called as he landed next to him

"do you know how many erasers would swarm this town if word got out that an avaian-human hyrbid was hiding here? let alone two?!"

kayden nodded "thats two people, easy to take care of, they tend to be around just in case but if they could have confirmed the location of one of us this place would be swarmed by tens of thousands of them" kayden replied. "this place is the one place ive been where i dont get attacked on the daily and im not letting some kid ruin that"

"hey wait, just because you made a dumb mistake doesnt mean im letting a fellow mutant leave unprepared." kayden stated. "come with me, i can miss a day of school"

kayden nodded "im kayden by the way, you?" he asked, leading roy through a labyrinth of hallways

kayden tuckeed his large white wings behind his reclaimed pink hoodie. taking roy into an apartment building that, from the outside, looked abandoned

inside the place is actually quite cozy, there are a small handful of people and small nest-like piles of blankets in different corners. "welcome to the hawks den"

the small group of people turned to look at the newcomer. a smaller one ran up. "hiiiiii!" she greeted them with a gasp. "kayden who is this? are they another bird kid? are they gonna join the flock? its been a while since weve met new people. oh by the way im kate im sure youll like it here! kayden is he staying?" she said in one breath of air before kayden could say anything

kayden patted the childs forehead "bap" he laughed "come on roy, weve got some things to do before you decide to book it"

kate seems happy about being picked up by the new kid. kayden glances at roy but acts like he doesnt notice.

kayden nodded "question, have you had your chip taken out yet?" he asked

kayden nodded. "good" he pointed to the little one. "thats kate, as she mentioned, she talks alot." he pointed to a taller boy eating a bag of cheeze-itz in the corner "thats eric, his eye sights not the best, dont give him tech, the things hee watches will scar you for life." and then he pointed to a short-ish kid that was doing somthing but it wasnt to obvious what it was she was doing "and thats karma, shes the whole reason this groups not in the school right now"

eric tenses a bit. "w-what?"

kayden snickers but seems a bit protective of the half blind bean

"sorry, by boys one of a kind and already mine." kayden jokes, though part of him wasnt joking

kayden was holding back the urge to snap the kinds neck. "um, do i have a s-say in t-this?" eric asked "thing is kid, your kinda huggin up on my boyfriend there."

eric and kayden turned to him "you okay?"

kayden looked to where the kid ran off. "should i go after him?' eric shook his head "sit with me for a bit, he'll be fine"

kayden had a bad feeling but sat next to eric anyways "was i being to harsh?"

down bellow a few small shapes could be seen, they had the bulky outlines of erasers

kayden burst up, the others in the group grabbed there emergency bags as they came outside

Kayden motioned to the others to meet at a spot they had decided on before, the group trusted him so they took off and kayden joined Roy in the fight
