LinkThe Derghid is a type of hunting pet. They are extremely ferocious to those who aren't their owner, and get VERY territorial, often even hurting younger derghids. She-derghids are often bigger than he-derghids. These notorious creatures are often owned by those with strong magic.
She-derghids are loyal to their last atom. When they see their owner being treated badly, they go into the enraged mode. This enraged mode fuels them with adrenaline, making them oblivious to pain in often situations. They don't stop until they are sure that their owner is safe, sure that the person who hurt their owner is dead, or until they cool off.

A she-derghid is more likely to include her cubs when she needs help getting her owner back, or when she wants to teach them how to hunt. Derghid cubs have enhanced sound association. It helps them with predators and hunters.

LinkThe derghid is about as tall as an elephant standing on it's hind legs. Baby derghids are about as tall as baby elephants standing on their hind legs. This makes them intimidating to others, but they are hunted because of their sweet meat and beautiful pelts. Their beaks are also very valuable, seeing as how the stuff it's made of makes for a very strong gun handle.
