They only feature something that's, popular, made cute anims, anything in japanese, or put a good loop animation up here, anything else is discarded or overlooked by them
This was just something I noticed, as always the title's a joke

Randomperson hasn’t gotten a featured anim in a while, I don’t think it’s based on popularity. It’s based on quality. Anims and people get popular because they make good stuff. People get featured because they made good stuff. It’s complete coincidence that 'popular' things are also featured. Some extremely unnoticed anims are featured.
i mean, sometimes i get confused about why they choose certain things (the only things of mine that are featured are things i didnt really care about and the things i spent a ton of time on are ignored :V) but I really don't think it's popularity. RP animates well (when she actually animates) so that's why she has a bunch of features. So does tps.

I haven’t really had my anims feature recently as well. I think the anims that have reall good shading and it’s coloured and stands out gets featured. Also, Flipanim hasn’t really been as active recently so it’s even harder to get featured. Most of the featured you see are like from 6 months ago and 6 months ago there were different standards. So that’s why some featured drawings don’t look as amazing.
Did you all only notice the one where it talks about popularity? Or did you only focus on it? I believe the good anims that are made also get featured, I also understand that flipanim doesn't notice most of them. I'm sure that flipanim has other better things to do than feature some dumb drawings/animations. I'm just pointing out what I mostly noticed, and again these are all opinions
And there are tons, TONS, of anims that are amazing like RP and TPS, some are even better, yet they don't get featured, i've seen loads of little things Rp has made that re just like tiny slideshows, they get featured. When I see someone else do it, it doesn't get featured or at least one comment. This just kinda bugs me because I think that the most unnoticed are great artists

i dont actually see many posts in chinese/japanese anymore, so those are probably older
you're right about cute stuff, i mean just looking at the bar right now 5 are generically "cute" (and one is from tps)
the loops are true too but i think they're pretty deserving especially if it's a long one. loops aren't exactly the easiest thing in the world
