It has recently come to my attention that a certain user has done some questionable things on this site. What I am focusing on is the out of context Bible verses. I attached the first group of out-of-context verses here. (Note: These verses are NASB version.) Ephesians 4:18 "18 being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;" Deuteronomy 22:5 “A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God." 1 John 1:9 " If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." _ . _ Now, let's look at these verses and what they truly mean.

For Ephesians 4:18, we need to look at context. You can't just yoink random verses from the bible and twist their meaning to say what you want them to say. Verse 17 (of Ephesians 4) says, and I quote, "So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,". Then verses 19-20 say "19 and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality [d]for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness. 20 But you did not learn Christ in this way,21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, 22 that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth."

This verse is saying that, as Christians, we have turned away from our former ignorant ways. This is not talking about everybody, Christians and Non-Christians. _ . _ For Deuteronomy 22:5. This verse (And, indeed, all of the Books of the Law) is an impossible standard. This "impossible standard" is God's way of saying that humans are incapable of being perfect and are in desparate need of a Savior. This isn't God being sexist. This is Him saying that we are a fallen people and need a Messiah. _ . _

1 John 1:9 This verse means that God will forgive us for all of our sins if we say that we have sinned. But it is not, in ANY way, saying that we can just do whatever we want and God will forgive us. Forgive, according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, means ": to stop feeling anger toward (someone who has done something wrong) : to stop blaming (someone)" This verse means that God will not be angry at you. But it does not mean that consequenses won't come. Because even if you apologize, the consequences might lessen, but they won't go away. _ . _

So. I know this is a lot of information, but everyone needs to understand that the meanng behind the verses matter. And when you take the verses out of context to twist them around for your own meaning, you are making them false. However, I am in no way a Bible expert. Everything I have written here is what I have learned over the years as an avid follower of Christ, from church, and from my Bible class at school (I go to a Christian school). So next time you take a random verse from the Bible, thinking that you can use this to prove your point about something, DO YOUR RESEARCH. Find out what the verse really means from bible experts. Look at the rest of the chapter to see context (which many random verses that are used in arguments are out-of-context and you simply need to read the whole chapter to understand what this verse is saying). And perhaps one of the best resources of all is a pastor. They will be happy to help you discover the meaning of a verse if you are ever confused. Thank you for your time.

ALSO- I forgot to add this but don't go to this person and start ripping on them. I am just stating my opinion, and warning everyone against taking a verse out of context.
