what helps for me is finding a hope that itll come back somehow i dont stress much over it
uemm urmm imfeelign many things. excited to go to the christmas shops in town tomorrow but feeling really down at thw same time cause im starting to really hate drawing again anf its making everything look great! idont know why im so upset i got my mock results back today and i did the best out of my entire class and exceeded my expected grade for the end of year 11 when we do the actual gcses ishould be super confident righw now but oh well
aajhahaj ,, iwish it was that simple in my case i stress over everything. i nearly flipped the table over this morning in school cause this one teacher pisses me the **** off and its been so exhausting to feel like this for months

and christmas shops ? like shops for gifts or shops for decoration???
and its alright, i get being in a slump for years and it is tiring and especially tiring when losing interest in something you love
im not sure i can offer something that will help and not be as easy but i guess looking back at a lot of art progress and how i Always come back to it helps me at least, i cant offer much more than "stay calm and relaxed to have control over one thing in your life/less stressed over a usually positive thing, go with the flow, try feel okay abt it etc"
IDK if that helps im not telling you what to do but i am offering it helped me when im in an art slump or slump in general even if it seems corny or simple
and im good lol scrolling flipanim and twitter and ummmm just.. hanging out... i got back my motivation for piano not much is going on
if that seems condescending its not meant to be 😭😭 i used to stress over it a lot too and so now its a lot easier for me
to be honest i don't even know what the shops are selling. in town there's huge rows of little christmas themed huts that go up every year and sell all sorts of stuff christmas themed or not. clothes, decorations, trinkets, toys, food they sell pretty much anything. i usually don't care much for them but it's an excuse to get to go outside and i'll take anything just to go out away from my parents for a while.

theonly hut i remember wasn't even a hut it was a little wagon thing?? but it had walls covered with all sorts of cheeses and i was like "oh awesome. what does this have to do with christmas"

i dont think we have anything like that here bec i live just outside the city (which goes christmas and any holiday big time)

i'd happily swap locations with you where i live they only go crazy for christmas but they go all out on it, it's pretty cute. shame that christmas is my least favourite holiday (and im not even sure why we celebrate it we're not a christian family) if they do all sorts of cool shit for halloween i'm heading straight there i love halloween so much yet nobody around here even bats an eye about it. we gotta drive so far out to find people celebrating halloween. there's horrorcon too i guess but i haven't been, mum wants to take me but my anxiety's gonna skyrocket for sure
i mean i am not christian either i just think christmas is kinda cute (half of my family is...) and our country is like buddhist or atheist or spirits blah balahlah
BUT OUR PLACE CELEBRATES HOLIDAYS TO THE FULLEST. every holiday. you should se it during halloween or new years, you can go to the main city and everyone is wearing a costume and a lot of haunted houses and costume contests idk we keep it fun here
also i didnt know people Dont celebrate halloween idk.. it seems so mainstream so that sucks.. also what is horrorcon is that like for horror movies etc?? tbh id be anxious too as much as halloween is fun i cant do horror
HORRORCONLOOKS SO AWESOMEF its not jsut for movies its for all thigns horror related!! theresw so many cosplays there it looks amazign. when i tell you my jaw was on the floor when my mum came back from her first horrorcon posing for the camera with springtrap fnaf. she also brought home the jaws of a bull shark and i was so confusedlikr i thought itwas just a cosplay place to meet up witj people who have similar interestsAPPARENLY NOT ?? WHAT ????? your mom posing with springtrap fnaf... that does sound cool ngl. . ive always wanted to go to conventions not only just to see the cosplays or cosplay myself (which is a long shot) BUT LIKE BRINGING HOME STUFF BASED ON THE CONVENTION? like merch and keychains and shirts made by people isntead of corporations (which is sometimes low quality) stuff like that.. that actually sounds so fun if u ever go u gotta log it onto flipanim dot com and tell how it is

and theres places where u can just walk on the street and its FILLED with people dressing up for halloween bec theres just so amny damn people who wanna walk on th estreet 😭😭 also a lot of decorations and lanterns for christmas chinese new year normal new year halloween you name it theres deco..
you totally should if you ever get the chance! you can find some awesome and exclusive stuff in there and they're almost always way higher quality than corporate made products, my mum's also told me that it's a great atmosphere in those kinds of places too, all just genuine nice people sharing interests with one another. if you're gonna dress up all proper be warned though cause you'll barely be able to walk a few steps without people rushing over and asking for a photo.
it sounds ideal for me over tjere igotta look into all tjis, do they know english over there? imight let my parents know about it they go crazy for the holidays and are looking for a new place to take a trip to next year
I REALLY WANNA GO TO ONE ... the closest i got to was this anime store at the mall and sometimes you can see people cosplaying and you Know theyre going there (a bunch of figures and events etc esp around halloween)
there was an anime convention i wanted to go to this year but i wasnt able to. it sounds so fun bec i rarely meet people who have the same interests as me no less irl
and yes you should!!!! its a rly great vacation spot which is why we have sm tourists esp from neighboring countries
theres disneyland historical sites etc and if in holidays u can go to west kowloon for the decorations
and yeah actually its super english friendly and like 80% know english bec of british occupation 😭 its nice to live here but i think its better as a tourist so i think u can convince them to come
honestly i did too but then i make a doodle that makes me think "wait maybe things aren't so bad" and then it all comes crashing down again and the cycle continues.
honestly i feel the same...I'll literally stop drawing for a whole 3+ days and then do it again and then repeat I'm slowly losing it
that happens to me all the time except everyone at school thinks i'm the emo artsy quiet kid so i gotta carry my notebooks around and pretend to be drawing all the time so i don't draw any attention to myself
silent treatment works wonders cause then you can say anything slightly aggressive and they'll jump and go away
