LinkArtstyles are something we create, not own
Think of it as oxygen you breathe it in ,use it and breathe it out then the next person comes and breathes that same air in, one day you arnt gonna be here and someone’s artstyle is going to change and evolve and probably look like yours, then maybe you’re gonna evolve and change your artstyle as well and that might look like someone else’s which is perfectly natural (now purposely matching someone’s art is a whole other conversation) but artstyle is not something you own

LinkAlso keep in mind everyone’s still learning and trying different techniques, the way I learned to draw was by coping certain things from other people, that’s normal that is growth
This is true, nobody has a "unique artstyle", and if it seems unique, it's just a mix of many artstyles on one. Plus, we change over the time so our artstyle won't stay the same forever.
ok but i feel like some shows do kinda "own" one. like even when the show is over and theres people drawing in that exact style. people are going to know it as "Oh thats [so and so]s art style. i loved that movie/show!"
so its not like you have YOUR art style??? like if you claim it as yours its...idk feels weird??
but with just other artists n such and urs is a common mix then yeah i get that we dont rlly own them
