LinkYou somehow ended up in the middle of nowhere. There was only a road and the rest was just desert.You didnt know how far until the nearest town and it was really hot outside.you walked for hours and hours,trying to stop passing cars and trucks but failed each time.Soon it started getting dark and cold. You were shivering and exhausted and your only light source was the white moon above you.After a bit more miles of walking you saw a truck drive up to you from behind and beep its horn.you looked back but couldn't see who it was bc of the bright lights.you hear a door open and close and then hear heavy footsteps like boots🌚lights making it hard to see who was walking towards u😥

The person who seemed to be a man once visible stood a small distance from the boy,looking him up and down"You need help?"

It was pretty small. The seats were a little big and there were some stuff in the middle like chips,fries,sunflower seeds and a radio station.and there was a bobble head in the front
He closed the door behind him and walked over to the drivers side,hopping in
He reached into the back and pulled out a blanket,handing it to charlie
He made it to the gas station and walked out and into the mini store and got some stuff for the boy and filled his truck while he was at it

The man kept walking until he was a small distance. He looked henry up and down,scratching his head a bit
~Henry stepped back a bit cause y'know stranger danger. His glasses glinted from the cars headlights. He stared at him before clearing his throat and speaking~ {Hi..Didn't expect to see anyone out here so late..}
"Neither did I.You lost or stuck or somethin'?It's risky walking out here alone at night."
~Henry pulled down his turtleneck so he could speak better and adjusted his glasses~ {Well I was with some friends but they left me out here- hehe- silly of them huh? Anyways, do you know how far of a walk it is to the nearest town?}
{Oh gosh that's alot longer than I expected..} ~He looked behind him ans rubbed his eyes~ {Nothing I couldn't walk...right?}
"Theres a gas station not too far from here. But we'd get there faster if we rode my truck."
~Henry hesitated and considered the risk of getting in a truck with a complete stranger. But then again he could be killed by countless things if he walked~ {If you wouldn't mind giving me a lift there..It would be very much appreciated}
~Henry hesitated. But eventually he took the strange mans hand. His light orange sweater practically consumed his body so the man was mostly grabbing his sweater~
He pulled him along and walked him over to his truck,opening the door for him
~He thought this man was very polite. Henry wondered to himself if the man did this often. Henry hoisted himself into the truck, sitting in the passenger seat. He buried his face back into his turtleneck. He was happy to be out of the cold desert~
He closed to door behind him and walked around the front of the truck,getting inside on the drivers side and closing the door.the heater in the truck was on so it was warm inside
{I'm Henry by the way!} ~Henry seemed to be much happier in the warm. And he thought it was time for a formal introduction. He was raised to do such things~
~Henry looked out the window. He was happy to have lift but dissapointed why he was there. His friend's had brought him on a "road trip" to the desert. But really when they were far enough out they left him out there without his belongings. Henry just wanted to sleep now~
{I actually don't know..It's not their first time. But it's what friends do right? Play jokes on each other it's all fun and games}
He glanced over at him"was it funny?leaving you in the middle of nowhere with no food,water,or any use of communication.alone to battle the harsh weathers and creatures that roam the night?"
{I- uhm-...Yes?...I dunno..} ~Henry brought his knees to his chest, burying his face in his sweater~
{Making new friends isn't easy for me. I've known my group of friends since I was little. I can't just get new friends-}
"Yes you can.it doesnt matter how long it takes you're always gonna meet someone new.just take those chances"
{Not like those kinds of chances come out of nowhere at the perfect time}

{I guess...} ~Henry sighed. He couldn't believe he was taking advice from a complete stranger~
~Henry blinked a few times before putting his feet down. He fluffed out his hair~ {Anyways..Thanks for the lift. You're a god sent}
"It's nothing.i find people walking along these roads all the time."
~Henry laid his head against the glass. The outside was pretty when he wasn't stranded. His eyes drooped slowly. Eventually he fell asleep~
~Henry woke up when they pulled up. Sitting up straight he unbuckled himself and looked at karter~ {Uhm..Thanks again for the ride. It was nice talking} ~He adjusted his glasses and smiled brightly, still tired~
"You sure you're gonna be fine here?i was just gonna fill my gas then take ya to a motel or something if you needed me to"
{Oh! No you don't have to! I'll just use the phone here and try to get a ride and if not I'll walk. I don't wanna take up anymore of your time. I'm sure you have other things to do}
~Henry looked dumbfounded. He had never been treated so nicely by a stranger before. He sat back down~ {I suppose I could stay then..} ~He flid his face into his turtleneck, side staring at karter. Henry was fascinated by the man and his undying kindness to him~
~Henry sat up, he opened his door and slid out closing the door behind himself~
~Henry scurried over. He had a kind of trot to his walking. He was truly a odd ball~
He had the same look he's had on his face the whole time,a slightly agitated look.he started to walk over to the store
~Henry didn't look him in the eye. He did feel bad he didn't have any money to repay the man. Henry kept a bit of a distance from karter. He didn't want to upset him more. But he couldn't help but stare~
He didn't look back at him and just walked into the bright store.there wasn't anybody inside except the cashier guy
~Henry looked arounr for a moment before grabbing a small thing of water. He was quite thristy after his journey.~
~Henry felt even worse now. This man was being so nice to him and he had nothing to repay him with~
~He nodded, not wanting to say anything to upset him. He already looked angry~

~Henry just stared at karter and looked away anytime he faced him. His face felt hot every time he looked at him~
~Henry sunk into his sweater and nodded, avoiding eye contact. His face felt increasingly warm~
~Henry stood there, looking at his shoes. He was to nervous to do anything without being told. He didn't want to be rude~
~Henry got back into the truck, buckling up he placed the bag in his lap~
He got inside as well and took a sip of his coffee before starting it up again
~Henry was to awkward and flushed to talk at this point. He just clutched the bag~
He pulled off and quickly glanced over at him and then back at the road"...."
~Henry was staring straight forward. His face slightly red. He was nervous for some reason.~
"....."the radio station started beeping and a man on the other and spoke"hey Margaret!how far are you??"karter looked actually annoyed this time and gripped the wheel"henry,pick that up."
~Henry quickly picked up the little speaker thing and looked at karter having no idea what he was doing~
He spoke loud enough for the other person to hear"My name is not FCKING Margaret.I get there when i get there."
"Wellll you're still technically a girl so.."the man snickered and karter sneered"My name is KARTER." "Right rightt....*snrk* margaret.."
~Henry was so confused on why they were arguing. So loudly at that. Karter was KARTER not margaret? Why would someone argue with someone about their own name?~ {You have a strange way of thinking if you feel obligated to try and tell someone their own name. Quite frankly it's stupid and childish..} ~Henry mumbled this of course~
He glanced over at henry for a second and the man spoke again"are you getting slowed down bc u keep stopping to get snacks or something?"
"You try driving state to state in the middle of nowhere.At least i'm being useful.it wont be long until your wife and 3 kids find out you're cheating AGAIN."
"Why don't you cry to your DAD about it huh MARGARET?"
He slammed on the breaks and fell silent
~Henry jerked forward his glasses falling crooked. He fixed them before looking at karter, still clutching the radio.~ {You okay?} ~He whispered covering the radio with his palm~
He was looking down at his lap and his breathing was a bit quick and shaky". . . . ."
~Henry paused before reaching out his hand to touch Karters shoulder~ {Karter?}
~Henry retracted his hand and quickly put the phone down. He looked down at the floorboard. His face was red from embarrassment. Why did he touch them? He doesn't know him. Such a stupid move~
He sat there for a bit and unhooked the station,starting to drive again

~Henry didn't know what to say or do. Karter was very obviously upset and he didn't want to make it worse. And so henry sat there. Stiff and still, cursing at himself in his head for his stupid actions~

~Henry pulled his turtleneck back over his mouth. He needed to stop talking. This was turning out to be a very awkward drive~
~Henry laid his head against the glass. His face, once again a shade of red from embarrassment~

~Henry opened his door sliding out of the car. He closed it behind himself. He looked around, adjusting his glasses~

~Henry stood there. By himself. He honestly considered walking into the darkness and continue this adventure alone. But of course he remembered what was out there. He hit his head against the car door a few times mumbling something about wanting to go home before walking after karter~
~Henry walked faster to catch up with karter. He was so tired at this point~
He tried to get a room for two or 3 but those rooms were full so he had to get a room for one and just let that work.he took the key and looked back at at henry
~This time henry didn't look away. He still turned red but he just stared at them through his glasses. Maybe it was because he was so exhausted who knows~
~He blinked a few times and looked away~ {I dunno..I'm not sick..} ~He was embarrassed he noticed~
"..."he started to walk out the building and over to where the rooms were
~He rubbed his face with his sleeves~ {I gotta stop doin that} ~Henry walked to catch up with karter~
He walked up to a door and unlocked it with a key. He held the door open for henry
~Henry looked at the ground as he walked inside. Not wanting to look at karter~
The room was pretty small. There was just a single bed,a small tv,a door which led to a bathroom,a desk with a microwave on it and a nightstand next to the bed.Karter walked in after him and locked the door behind them
~Henry looked around the room, running his hand along the items in the room~
Karter turned on the lamp and looked at the bed,wondering how the sleeping situation was abt to work"..."
~Henry walked into the bathroom and leaned on the counter looking in the mirror.~ {God I look awful..} ~He chuckled to himself, floofing his hair out~
~Henry looked down and poked it~ {How'd you get in here little buddy?} ~He scooped it up in his hands~
~Henry sat on the counter, running two fingers along the frogs back~ {You also stuck out here buddy?..} ~He mumbled a conversation with the frog. Sleep deprivation was really getting to him~
~Henry smiled~ {Yeahh...} ~He yawned,leaning his back against the mirror and put the frog next to him~ {Bet you're tired to}
~He rubbed his eyes with his sleeves, putting his head back on the glass~ {Tonight has been a hell of a thing}
~Henry sighed, getting off the counter he smiled at the frog~ {I'll cya later little buddy} ~He turned the light off snd walked back into the bedroom~
~Henry being the little man he is decided to just tough it out and let them be comfortable. He turned off the light and sat on the ground near the wall. He pulled his sweater off folded it and put it on the ground. He layed his head on the sweater and closed his eyes. Curling into a ball he finally slept~
It was like 6 in the morning and karter had woken up.he was still tired tho and looked around for henry
~Henry was sprawled on the ground. His arms were over his face. His glasses sat next to him. Henry was still, dead asleep~
~Henry had toughed the night out on the floor. No blankets or nothing. He used his shirt as a pillow. At least he got some sleep right?~
He went over to him and carefully picked him up and placed him on the bed
~Henry rolled onto his side, clutching the blankets. He buried his face into the soft blankets~
He yawned and and got back on the bed,laying as far from henry as possible but it probs wont stay that way😏🌚he went back to sleep after that

~Henry stayed where he was still fast asleep. His adventures of the night before had drained him. He needed his sleep and much of it~

Its was now like 10 am and karter had moved around a bit in his sleep so he was up against henry now,having an arm wrapped around him

~Henry opened his eyes slightly but stayed where he was. He realized he wasn't on the floor anymore. He then realized what was around him. His face turned red. But he didn't move or make a sound. He just smiled and closed his eyes making the best of this moment~

😏😍{Oh my god- this is the best day of my life} ~He whispered yelled, flushed and smiley he tried to keep still and quiet~
~Henry enjoyed every second and minute of this, he felt comfortable and safe. Eventually he let himself close his eyes and drift back to sleep~

Like 40 mins later karter woke up again and when he got his mind straight he looked down at henry and his face go sooo red😏
His heart was speeding and he shifted a little trying to get out without waking him up
He went into the bathroom and started getting himself ready for the day

~Henry brought the blankets up to his chest~
He didnt notice the frog until he turned on the water and it hopped on his face makinghim fall into the shower and break the curtain💀😭
~Henry woke up, he sat up and rubbed his eyes. He got up and knocked on the bathroom door~ {You okay in there?}
Karter was still in the shower and got a little dazed"😵"
The frog hopped off of him and over to henry
~Henry scooped up the frog. He opened the door and stepped in.~ {Karter?..You alright?} ~He tapped his leg with his foot~
{He was here before us actually. He's just been sleeping in the sink..till now} ~He slightly snickered~
{Nothing, nothing} ~Henry smiled~ {We'll leave you be} ~Henry left with his litte buddy and sat back on the bed~
~Henry smiled at it~ {So, what your plan? Keep living in a motels sink or continue your adventure?}
Karter eventually walked out and stood a distance from henry and the frog".."
"Uh.morning."he rubbed the back of his neck and wondered his he knew abt what happened with the cuddling n stuff

~He nodded, getting up from the bed he grabbed his sweater and glasses. He put them both on before returning to the frog scooping them up~
He was at the door and looked back at him"Hello?i said leave the frog-"
{He wants to be outside.} ~He seemed to be set on having the frog left outside~
"Just let em live in the sink.there arent any ponds in the desert so it would die outside."

~Henry looked a little dissapointed before walking back to the bathroom. He set the frog back~ {Sorry little buddy look's like your story stays here for a bit..Go scare the living crap out of another person for me} ~He patted their head and walked back out~

~He put his hands closed to the window and left a small gap so the frog could see the outside~

~Henry was excited to get his friend home. Maybe let him go at a nearby pond. That would have to wait till he got home~
The man walked over and kept a small distance from them"whatr' you doing out here this late at night?"
"Oh.. uhm.. i ran away from home." He looked to the side, crossing his arms..
"No. Dad left when I was eight and mom is using." He looked back up at the stranger.
"Aw..you know its dangerous walking around these parts at night you know?where you headed?"
"I'm not sure? I just wanted to get away... very far away." He chuckled at himself trying to lighten the mood.

"Hm." He just stared out the windshield, sometimes glancing at the stranger. "Oh uhm.. I'm Leith by the way."
"Okay.. can you get me something to eat? I haven't eaten in 2 days." He laughed nervously.
"Really? Okay!" He looked around and ended up getting some chips and chocolate.
