As she was unconscious, the scorpion fought hard, he lashed his tail and slapped its face putting it in a daze, he then stabbed his tail into his chest, injecting the venom, watching the lizard die slowly.
He detached his stinger from its target and crawled backwards, as the lizard fell dead upon the sand it fought upon.
After calming himself down, the scorpion slowly crawled over to the small mouse, she started to wake up, but was so weak from hunger she wasn't able to stand well.
She whimpered and teared up in fear. "P-...please-.....d-don't h-hurt.....m-....me..." His heart seemed to melt, she was small and scared, hungry and alone. He looked around for any other mice, but there was nothing but sand, rocks, and cacti for miles.
"shhhh...." he softly said as he gently brought her to him, he picked her up by the scruff in his mouth and crawled to his homeland.
He gently set her down, it started to get cold as night came, he gently laid beside her, and put his legs over her, keeping her in a warm place.
She shivered and snuggled into him and awoke, she whimpered again, gaining his attention. "you.....y-you saved me.... why?" se asked sorrowfully.
"I can't bear seeing you get hurt, I saved you because I felt I had to....." He tried to explain, he knew she was lost and scared, so she was fearful. "Why are you alone out here? it's dangerous...." She looked away and sobbed a little, she wanted to squeeze into a small hole and just cry her sorrows out.
He gently nuzzled her and emitted a gentle purring sound. "Hey.... hey don't cry....... please little one... tell me.." She sniffled and shyly nuzzled into him, she pressed her head gently against his and he closed his eyes listening to her.
"M-my m-..mother a-and fath-er g-got s-sw-swept away b-by the storm..." She teared up clenching her teeth and tried to hold back a heartbreaking wail. He noticed this and gently
pressed into her, and softly murmured. "Let it all out sweetie....." and so she did, let out a wail and collapsed digging her claws into the sand. he gently laid his head upon her back, lowering his tail to show he was no threat.
"shhhh................ I know you miss your parents.... but i'm here.... your safe with me.."
