I hadn't really looked any further beyond Makuro just being a childhood plot point in the story for Miro, but now I've decided he comes back to his home town a completely different person and bumps into Miro. I've fallen in love with a swimming anime called "Free!" (Quick mention, I have a fetish for wet men. I don't know why...) Anyways, there's a character in that anime named Rin (Pronounced REEN for some reason) and I just LOVE his moody yet often confident attitude... he's also really hot, so like.. I decided Makuro could be kind of inspired by Rin, since I love him so much.

So besides that information, nobody asked for, here's some backstory for Makuro; Makuro was born into a pretty normal family. His mother and father were quite poor but were getting along fine for themselves. By the time Makuro is about 9 years old, they start running into some financial issues, mainly dept. The father, desperate to find ways to get them out of this trench hole, he gets himself in trouble with a criminal group known for stealing. Once Makuro turns 10, and he's pretty much ready to graduate into Middle School, his father expresses his frustrations of almost getting caught by the police. He tells Makuro they need to move away so the police don't find them, and they don't have the chance to say goodbye. Makuro is obviously upset, so he runs away to Miro's house to try and say goodbye one last time. Sadly, he gets shot with a dart by his mother, which sends him to sleep. He then wakes up in a completely country...

While in that country, he trains a lot to help his father with his criminal business. He starts to swim, box, and practices fighting techniques with his power, which is water. By the time he comes back to his home town to visit, his mind has already been conditioned so much that he's not the sweet boy Miro grew up with. Makuro is still a great guy, but he's officially a criminal... And since Miro wanted to be part of the Top 5 and all, they both knew they couldn't be friends.
