How about this: The world is becoming dangerous, groups of Army gone rogue. You can't trust anyone. (character 1) knows that. But when (character 1 name) meets (character 2 name), (he/she) realizes that (he/she) may have a friend in this harsh world.

Slate scurried around a house,looking at both sides before he ran in to raid it
Alpine shivered, her grey fur hiding her mostly from any outsiders as she layed in the corner of her abandoned house. 'This world isn't right anymore...' She thinks
Slate ran out into the open,passing by Alpine.He ran into the house and stayed there..
Alpine tries to hide, pulling her white paws in and her ears fold back. She lets out a whimper.
Slate heard the whimper,thinking it was a mouse..he poked his head out and looked around,he slowly stepped out to investigate.,
Slate looked at the ball of fur,it was definitely not a mouse.He walked up to it and towered over,”hmmmm”
Alpline whimpers, scooting closer to the wall. "P-please..." She whimpered.
He looked down at her,”what you think imma kill you?”he laughed and looked around,”I do when I’m assigned,not at a time like this”he turned around,beginning to walk away
Alpine whimpers again. "Y-you're part of the Rogue Army, aren't you?"
He sighed,”Think about it,if I was on their side I woulda killed you already,also I’m not a follower.,”
He looked at her tail,”why are you wagging your tail?”he turned around again to leave her,alone
He stopped in his tracks,”why,aren’t you scared of a thing like me?”he swished his tail
She looks into his eyes. "I... I don't have anyone... I'd rather have someone t-than be alone..." She whimpers.
He thought for a moment
Mind:Don’t take her!But she’s scared...she’ll die without you...
He grunted and hung his head,flicking his tail for you to come
She smiles, getting up and walking beside him. "Thank you, I promise I'll do whatever you need."
He nodded,”Just don’t slow me down kid..what’s your name”he began to walk towards the house
He continued to walk and said,”I’m Slate..”he entered the house,”Now I need you to get whatever you can that might be useful for survival..if your in trouble,give me a holler.”he dashed off in search of supplies
Alpine doesn't say anything, immediately running off the opposite direction. "Ugh, this place reeks..." She mutters to herself. Looking around, she finds lots of papers and glass. Stepping over them, she finds a pack of what seemed to be crushed crackers. She picks it up and immediately feels weight on her back, tossing her to her side. "Agh!" She yelps.
Alpine rolls over, avoiding a blow to the throat. She staggers up, looking her enemy in the eye. Growling, she launches herself at the black wolf-like creature. It ducks, sending her over it, but she lands on it's back. It yelps, trying to roll her off. She grabs it's scruff, biting into it. The creature yelps, falling. Her claws dig into its side as she jumps off. She turns back towards it, ripping out it's throat. A few seconds pass of whimpering before everything goes quiet. Alpine grabs the crackers and looks up, just now noticing Slate.
Slate looked at her shocked and impressed at the same time,”Wow,not bad”he smiled
She blushes, looking down. "I, uh... I didn't see you there..." She says, her voice muffled by the crackers.
He walked over to her,nodding in approval,”Don’t worry,I’m not gonna tell anyone,”he said jokingly
"Heh, yeah, okay..." She looks at her paws, her tail tucking involuntarily.
H smiled,”We might wanna get a move on before others come..”looking around
Alpine doesn't say anything. "So, where are we gonna go?" She asks.
He looked at her,”I made a base,no one has fund me yet..we’re going there..”he began to trot
She nods, having to give a little more effort to keep up since she was missing her left foreleg.
(Poor bap :() Slate saw that she was slower so he halted,”Need help kid?”
She limps beside him, her fur brushing up against him by accident.
He looked forward again,”Don’t stress it,we got other things to worry,”he said calmly
