I follow the 12 principles of animation. These include Squash and stretch, anticipation, staging, straight ahead action and pose to pose, follow through and overlapping action, slow in and slow out, arc, secondary action, timing, exaggeration, solid draw, and appeal. I'm not perfect by any means, as a matter of fact I didn't even use most of the principles here. In comparison to some other creators on this site you might not think of yourself as good, but with practice you will be able to perfect your craft. I spend a lot of my time drawing and animating in a room by myself, trying to get better. We all start small, so don't rush through, take your time and remember that mistakes are good.
