8 x ( 5 + 6 ) = ( [what i have to fill in] x 5 ) + ( [fill-in] x 6 )

8 x (5 + 6) = (8 x 5) + ( 8 x 6)
But it could be
8 x (5 + 6) = ([4 x 2] + ([4+4] x 6)

LinkI took a open note test a few months ago. I forgot my notes. I got a D-. And I knew it was open note.
