when shading i use a bigger brush, so if i accidentally stop touching it it doesnt go lighter in tiny spots and look uneven. Not that this neccesarily happened but it could have. If u use a big brush, there is less chance of this happening anyway, and it looks more deliberate and ok if u mess it up

Anyways, you should probs focus on lighting and where the light is coming from because I can't see any form of light apart from the sun in the background, although that's on the other side of the character.
