Introduction:
Did You Know That The Great War Or Often Is Well Known As World War One Was The War That Killed About 8 Million People And About 21 Thousand Were Injured. Is The First War To Use Chemical Weapons, The Start Of Plastic Surgery To Help Shape Facial Injuries From The War, And That Blood Banks Were Developed During The War To Treat Soldiers Suffering From Blood Loss? Or That Sunlight Savings Time Was Officially Used By The Countries Affected By The War To Save On Coal And Candles? As Many Good And Bad Came Out Of The Deadly War; Such As The Rise Up Of Feminism And Equal Rights Or That The Treaty Of Versailles That Ended World War One Actually Caused World War Two. As Many Initially Expected That It’ll End By Christmas Of 1914 During The First Couple Of Months, But Instead Lasted Longer With The War Of 4 Years, From July 8, 1914, To November 11, 1918. And Is Considered As One Of The Deadliest Wars In History Up To Date.
Research Paper:
First Point- The Causes Of The War - The Tension Between Austria-Hungary And Serbia Was High After An Recent War. And A Serbian Independence Resistance Group Thought That By Assassinating Archduke Franz Ferdinand Of Austria. Austria Hungary Would Lose Some Power And Finally Let Serbia Have Their Own Freedom And Independence, Which Angered Austria’s Government After The Assassination, Pointing The Blame On Serbia's Government. Which Led Them To Request Ten Things They Wanted From Serbia So They Won't Discharge Their Troops, Which Serbia Could Only Do Nine Of The Ten Things Requested As The Tenth Request Violated Their Constitution And Independence. And So A Mini War Was Declared Between Austria-Hungary And Serbia. Russia Then Send Their Troops To Help Serbia (Since They Were Allies). This Caused Germany To Declare War On Russia As Germany Had To Protect Austria-Hungary As
As They Were Also Allies, But Then France Who Was Tied By A Treaty With Russia Had To Protect Them, So France Declared War On Germany And Austria-Hungary. Germany Then Invades Belgium To Get To France, In Which England Gave Germany A Choice To Leave Belgium, (Who Was England’s Ally) Alone Or Face War, In Which Germany Decline, And So England Joined The War. Thus Created The Official WW1. England Then Went Off To Prevent Ships From Arriving In Germany And Austria-Hungary And So In Consequence The Countries Starved. Germany Then Tried Doing The Same By Sinking England's Ships As Well By Using Submarines. But Then Attacked A Passenger Ship That Carried 1,959 Passengers In Which 1,198 Of Them Were Killed, With 128 Americans On-board. Which Angered America’s President, In Which Germany Apologize About Their Mistake. And So A Treaty Was Created About Germany’s Attack On Passenger Boats. But Then Germany Made A Risking Move By Violating The Treaty With The Hopes Of Defeating England But Risking America Into Wa

Which Made America’s Public Opinion Of Germany Bad. What Also Played A Part In America’s Decision Against The Central Powers Was Germany’s Secret Contract To Mexico. In Which If Mexico Joined The Central Powers. They’ll Together, Take Back The Territories, Arizona, Texas, And New Mexico, That Once Belonged To Mexico, But Lost During The Mexican-American War. And So America Joined The War On The Allies Side Of April 6, 1917.
Second Point- Life Back Home- Women, Men, And Children Back Home Behind The Battlefront And Trenches Were Also In The Reach Of Danger. As Countries Such As Britain And Germany Had To Adapt To Rationing Food, Because of Agriculture Wasn't Producing Quickly Enough To Feed The Country's Citizens And Their Soldiers. Many Men Volunteered To Joined The War, Leaving Their Wives And Children Home, And With Empty Job Positions And The Need To Provide For Their Family, Women Took Their Places As Farmers, Transporters, Nurses, Clerks, Translators, Typist, Construction And Manufacturing In War Products, Ect. And For Those In Britain And France Who Hadn't Or Refuse To Volunteer In The Military Were Ridiculed And Shamed On By Passing Females And Shop Owners Refusing To Let Them Into Their Stores, Causing Them To Enlist Under Pressure. Middle Class And Housewives In Germany Protested And Coal Miners Went On Strike Because Of The Food Being Overpriced, But Were Dismissed By The Government As They Weren’t Known For Violence
And By Early 1916, Austria Hungary, Russia, The Ottoman Empire, And Belgium’s Citizens Were Starving Due To The Shortage Of Food. And Late 1914 To The End Of The War In 1918, Britain Was Raided With Bombs From Germany By Air, In A Attempt To Damage The Enemy And Also Slow Down The Progress Of Britain’s Efforts Into The War, Which Resulted In 557 Deaths And 1,358 Injured.
