LinkI don't understand why but I get disgusted very easily when it comes to bugs. And there was a fly in my water.

The fly genome contains about 13,000 protein coding genes, which are responsible for building and maintaining all fly organs. Importantly, many of these proteins are very similar to the human proteins, thus studying a protein in flies will teach us about its role in the human body.
"One could get sick from ingesting the bacteria just like eating any contaminated food," writes DeSalle. "There are also some flies that carry nasty diseases around with them like TseTse flies." In addition to unintentionally depositing bacteria, flies will also intentionally lay eggs in food.
If eating flies can cause diseases and hopefully even death.
