On one hand you got people doing it for attention. The problem here is that there are people who actually suicidal that need to get help with it. If there are scummy idiots pretending to be suicidal to get attention, that kind of sticks in people's minds, so if they no nothing about the reality of suicide, and someone come to them like "I have a problem and I need help" there is a chance that they will think that the person is lying for attention. Lying about being suicidal for attention hurts people actually dealing with it, and that can cause them to commit. You are scum.

Then you got people who lie about being suicidal for pity. To make people feel bad for them, to make someone feel sorry for some percieved slight. You know the ones, "Oh, I know I was mean, and that's why you said what you did, but now I'm sad and I'm going to go commit suicide". I've recently had someone do this to me. If you do this, you are an emotionally manipulative scummy moron. You are abusing people, and you are a bad person for it. Do you understand how having the weight of causing someone's death on your shoulders could effect someone? How absolutely wrecked their life could be if they thought they killed someone? No you don't. because you aren't thinking of anyone else, you're being an idiot. You are scum.

Then, finally, the piece de resistance. The people who use it to excuse shit they did. "Oh, I know I told you that you deserve to burn in hell, and insulted every facet of your being, but I'm depressed and was suicidal at the time, so it's okay." No. Even if you were suicidal, that isn't how it works. You still said those things, did those things. You are still to blame. But it's clear that you aren't suicidal, because of how you talk about suicide, flinging your feeling around like free condoms at a sex clinic. People who deal with these issues tend to keep it to themselves and their friends. But you're making everyone feel shit about criticizing you. You are scum.
