Noticing, Ryan yells from the window. "Excuse me!"

Beckoning him inside, Ryan unlocked the door and gestured for him to come inside.

"So um, I was thinking." Ryan leaned against the wall, seeming casual. "Since you like seeing me so much, I figured you could work here."

"I'd really appreciate the help." It was at that moment the dainty little shop was much more rundown than he first thought. Ryan's jeans were torn in places, his shoes were missing laces. The pots the flowers were in were slightly cracked, and almost no other customers besides Rio himself came in.

Ryan smiled, blushing slightly. "I actually live above the shop," he said sheepishly. "I mean I don't have any power, or much food.."

"But uh..." He smirked just a little. "Why do you like seeing me so much?"

Blushing heavily, he stammered nervously. "That's n-not r-really an answer."

He anxiously tugged on a curl. "Can't you just tell me?"

"Why wouldn't I?" He smiled, brushing a tiny piece of hair out of Rios eyes.

His hands shaking just a bit, he pulled a small pink and green flower from above the window and tucked it behind the others ear, twisting his fingers together after he had done so.

"They're called Catchflies," he explained, blushing. "They're my favorites, they're really rare."

"The best part it, they're not just flowers." He was excited now, a spark in his eyes. "They're predators."

(No its real) "Like Venus Flytraps, they use their sweet smells to catch and eat bugs." He grinned, then blushed slightly. "And their genes also induce chromosome drives."

Watching him walk away, he groaned internally. "Way to blow it with stupid flower facts, Carti," he muttered to himself.

Pausing, he hesitated before nodding.

He blushed hard, mumbling.

Snapping out of it, he looked extremely embarrassed. "Sorry I gotta go," he blurted, and went back inside, slamming the door and flipping over the closed sign.

Groaning, he sunk down onto the floor, attempting to rub the redness from his cheeks. "Why are you so stupid!" He cursed, running his hands through his thick black hair. "He clearly doesn't like you that way."

Sighing deeply, Ryan picked himself up and walked up the stairs in the back of the shop to his apartment, sitting in the empty windowsill and watching Rio from across the street. "Why are you such a dumbass," he muttered.

A smile slowly made its way across his face. "So he does like the flower after all," he swooned.

"Maybe he does like me," he whispered, tapping softly on the glass.

Hearing the bell ring, his heart panged and started beating fast again, he for some reason couldn't bring himself to move.

"Hi," he squeaked, his heart just seemed to not ever wanna stop pounding.

Instinctively, he lunged forward and caught him in a dip, his arms around his waist and faces inches from each other.

"I'm so sorry," he apologized profusely, setting him back on his feet and recoiling.

"W-what?" He played with the strings on his apron nervously, shifting his weight back and forth.

Ryan completely froze, his arms at his sides and face a bright red.

"Y-you shouldn't h-have done that," he stuttered, his eyes on the floor.

"I'm not s-supposed to like you," he blurted, his eyes now watery and filled with tears. "M-my aunt says it's wrong."

"I-I can't, I'm sorry." He angrily wiped away his tears, turning away bitterly.

Burying his head in his knees, Ryan stifled a sob. "Why are you so stupid," he mumbled.

Swallowing the lump in his throat, he walked upstairs again and stared longingly out the window at the coffee shop.

(I'm half tempted to have fall out of the window XD) Ryan pressed his hand to the glass, wondering how he rebounded so quickly.

He leaned against the window further, and suddenly it spun, heaving him out and hit the pavement arms first.

"I think I broke my arm.." he muttered weakly, wincing as he tried to move it.

"I didn't mean to." He faced away from him, cradling his left arm. "Why do you care so much anyway?"

Silence. Ryan rubbed his thumbs over each other nervously. "You shouldn't like me."

He stammered, at a loss, before blushing and speaking rapidly. "Because I'm poor and a boy and dark and the last time I liked a boy my parents left me!"

"Its not you," he mumbled, crying quietly. "Its me."

"I didn't mean to hurt you!" He protested, scooting forward on the ground. "I can't..." His voice trailed off, realizing there was no saving it. "I can't help it."

"No, Rio, I-" Ryan panicked, attempting to push himself to his feet, and crying out in pain as his left arm could support his weight and he fell back down.

"No! Don't leave!" He scrambled, eventually getting to his feet.

Ryan paused for a split second before rushing forward and kissing him, using his good arm to pull him close.

"She doesn't have to know." He blushed hard, rubbing his left arm bitterly. "If I can be with you, I'd keep anything a secret."I

"I'm sorry for making you feel bad," he said sheepishly as they climbed in the ambulance.
