*Smoke...is coming from the car. A girl sits inside, puffing on a cigarette. She looks down, noticing you, and gets up* You need help?

*Pulls the girl up, then looks at marble* Shit! You okay?

*You notice a large dufflebag in the corner, things scattered around the car. She grabs a first aid kit and sits you down, looking at your head for injury*

Sorry about the mess, I usually don't get visitors while I'm on the trains.

*A walkman sits on a crate, playing a song that's not quite familiar to you, but it's nice.*

*Smiles gently, cig hanging from corner of mouth* You seem alright, just let me check your leg

*Raises eyebrow, but checks her leg none-the-less.* Hmm...it'll bruise, but there's no real bad damage.

*Hums, taking the tape out of the walkman, placing a new one in and playing it*

*Hotel california plays gently, takes a cig and lights it with finger, taking a puff*

So, are you headed somewhere?

*Nods* You have a cat?

*Chuckles* That's alright. You can let her out.

*Smiles* Hey there, little one *Coos gently*

*Looks up at her* What's your name, anyway?

hm. I'm max. Nice to meet you.

*Lays on the edge of the car, wind whipping hair around*

You have any idea where you're going?

Mm. Sounds nice. I gotta head into the city for a job. It'd be awesome to have you there with me.

*****a click is emitted from the bag as you shift your weight onto it*

...were you looking in my bag..?

*Sits up, brows furrowed, anger boiling in eyes*

You could get hurt, snooping around.. *Grabs bag*

I have some stuff to eat in my backpack, by the door.

*puts bag down, digging into it, another click sounds. Zips the bag back up*

just....don't mess with my duffel, of my black case. *The black case sits by the duffel, locked tightly*

and yeah

*cleans up, putting case and duffel together in the corner, backpack next to it, picks up papers scattered around and put them in green folder, picks up pencils and pens, putting them in a pouch, grabs expensive looking laptop and puts it aside with duffel, and grabs a baggie filled with something green and leafy*

No. My job...is dangerous. I'd really like to bring you to New York with me, though. If you stayed in my apartment you'd be fine...

Yeah, they don't care as long as I play rent. *Chuckles lightheartedly*

*Turns off walkman as to not disturb her, and takes leafy baggie, rolls some of it up in a scrap of paper, then lights it, taking a puff*

*timeskip? to the morning?*

*You wake up on something soft, a super comfy bed*

*You hear riptide playing in the background, and the scent of breakfast cooking*

*A huge bedroom surrounds you, its white and clean, furniture beautifully polished*

*The apartment is HUGE. Bigger than many houses you've seen. A maid stands in the kitchen, cooking breakfast*

*The maid turns to you, smiling.* "Good morning, ma'am. Miss Maxine is out for work, she'll be back in an hour or so. Would you like some breakfast?"

*The maid sets down a plate of french toast, bacon, cheesy eggs,and strawberries, along with a glass of milk*

"*Smiles* It's no problem. Will you be needing anything else?"

"Alright. I'll be sure to alert you when miss maxine gets back"

*A few minutes later, you hear what you assume is the front door is slammed open with a bang, and you hear the maid talking quickly, frightened*

*Max is in some kind of dark uniform, blood gushing from a wound in her shoulder. There's a large gun that looks like a sniper rifle of the table. Looks about the same size of her...duffle...bag..*

I gotta....get the bullet....out...

*Eyes widen*....m-marble....just..g-go to your room...p-please?

*You hear a cry of pain, and something shift*

*A hour later, all the noise stops, and you hear footsteps approach your door*

*Knocks on her door*

*Opens the door, shoulder wrapped in gauze, wearing a fluffy flannel and black jeans* Hey..

I'm....so sorry you had to see that..

And i...heard you call me..miss? What was that about? *Sits on the edge of her bed*

*It's fine

*Flinches from her wing*

...I'm...not the best person in the world, Marble. I...do a lot of bad. And...I haven't had ways to justify it..until I met you. What I do keeps a lot of people safe, and...now I can keep you safe too.

So...if you....w-want....to leave..that's up to you. I understand if you don't feel safe here anymore.

....that's....wrong. You're amazing, and they took you for granted. But....I'm glad it led to me meeting you.
