Usually when you do pastel gore, it's the closest to 'cute' you can get when youre drawing a character all cut up. So, the scared expression and medieval torture method don't really fit the theme. Also, usually people that draw this kind of thing stick to one blood color and don't usually use red because it's too realistic for pastel gore.
