use low opacity slightly lighter than the other part and go like that around the place, you should also change the lightness and darkness of it every so often so it looks more realistic

Ok, so for fur you need to make a pattern. On the chest on wolves fur usually goes in like a heart. The head fur is usually straight and neat, the ear fluff (on the back of the ear not inside) is usually all messy.
