LinkWhy are people so obsessed with death these days? Like, oh no, I'm getting criticism on my art! I'm gonna kill myself if you don't stop! Or, oh no! I got less than 100% on this quiz that doesn't even affect my grade? Time to KMS. Oh my gosh, I just laughed so hard I DIED. People say some crazy crap and it's worrying? Death isn't something you joke about. There are people out there who are actually depressed and on the verge of throwing away their lives, and if people keep saying stuff like that when they don't really mean it, how are well-meaning people supposed to tell who actually needs their help or not? I'm tired of crying my eyes out over 10 year olds who pretend like they're going to commit suicide just for attention or to win an argument. So can we all just shut up about death when we don't mean it?

Death is a subject that should be joked about just like literally any other. If you give something power, you are making yourself a victim of it. That goes for words like retard and ******, and concepts, like death or suicide. If you restrict people from joking about something, you are giving it power.

LinkSorry man, still gonna joke about killing myself or dying. I shouldn't need to have a diagnosis to be able to make jokes. Or do you believe clinically depressed people also cant joke about their illness? Laughter is an amazing coping method, it brings you up when you're down and takes away the power your issues have over you.
