Linkdon't make adopts that you don't try on
that whole sudden burst of adopts that one time on my profile (which i call the adopocolypse), i actually tried to make every design original and make them worth receiving. but then i see shit like this (http://flipanim.com/anim=vtNLy0WD ) and i just, can't. it's just?? a purple????? dog cat thing??????? parade's more original then that honestly
and that's disappointing :)))))))
like,, before i release an adopt, i think to myself: "is this a design i would want, and other people would like? if it's inspired by something, does it look like a blatant copy? is it easily recognizable?"
coloring a dog purple doesn't make it original
and yes, while i'm guilty of this with parade, since he is just a white dog with a bowtie, yellow and red eyes and sometimes a bottle of beer or a vest, he was made like that on purpose. he's an animation tester, i use him for trying something new in animation. (which is why my first running/ walking animations were of him).

Linkdesigns don't have to be super complex to be great, though. for example, limit (http://flipanim.com/anim=LGNvOZFB ). he's just a white cat with black patches, and a red text bubble, but he's easily distinguishable because of the text bubble. take it away, he's not as recognizable. in the case that you replace the mouth under his text bubble with normal eyes, that is.

It’s not just adoptables either, just OCs in general. I don’t like when people say “OMG DIS IS MY KAWAIIII OC CREAM!!!” And it’s just a white furry with nothing intresting about them. I don’t understand why they get praise and people saying “OMG KAWAII DESU!1!1!!” When their furry is just a shitty plain animal with a basic color.
