I think it snubs the other electric types. My favorites are shinx and pichu and I feel pikachu is annoying and overrated.

Pikachu was like the first pokemon, how is he overrated? Hes so original. Its your opinion, but i wish pikachu was real tbh, he can just sit on your shoulder when you go to the store, and the Pika pi! @sweet for you information, pichu is pikachu's 1st form. in fact, the 1st pokemon is rhydon, the 112th pokemon to the pokedex. everyone says Pikachu is the 1st because of his originality. also, pikachu is based off of the species Pika Mouse, which technically makes him exist. so, think about this next time you speak pokemon.

I honestly have to agree with @RandomaticAnimations on this one. They're right. Rhydon, though the 112th Pokemon in the Dex, is the first one created. The second was Mew, and so on and so forth. Pikachu is based on the Pika mouse in Austrailia and other parts of the world. Fun fact, Pika is also heard to be the sound lightning makes. Now on to my opinion, I don't really like Pikachu for a reason you might now think. He's overrated, yes, but I really don't like what he's started. They could've stuck with three mice. Three. Pikachu, Plusle, and Minun. They should of stopped there, but didn't. Now we have a Dedenne rip-off in Sun and Moon; GF is running out of ideas. If they stuck with originally Pikachu, Plusle, and Minun, I wouldn't be ranting. Also, people need to stop shipping Pokemon together. It's horried and disgusting.
