When Jeff turned 13, he and his family moved to a new neighbourhood. Jeff had an odd feeling, but ignored it mostly. The next day, he and his brother, Liu, are getting on the school bus and 3 kids, named Kieth, Troy and Randy show up.
They point guns and knives at people demanding lunch money. After they forcefully take his older brother's wallet, Jeff has the urge to get up and fight the 3 bullies. He beats them up, and knocks out Keith. They go to school and are fine all day, and when they got home they went to bed. The next morning, police show up and try to arrest Jeff for assault. Liu takes the blame for Jeff, and goes to Jail, even despite trying to explain to the police about the fact that they were threatening them, and it was for self defence. Everybody stays away from Jeff, and he starts to get lonely. The bullies were in hospital for 5 days, so nobody worried about them. Even so, everyone stays away from Jeff. He seamed very lonely, so Jane, who went to that school, decided to write him a note.
Jane placed the note on his desk. She didn't see him until the end of the day, in the final lesson. She saw him at his desk, but didn't see the note. 5 days later, Saturday came and his parents convinced Jeff to go to a party next door, to cheer him up. Jane lived opposite to him, and could see the part from her window. When she look, Jeff was there, wearing clown make-up and a wig, dancing around for the younger children. Just as she was about to close the window, she saw the bullys go through the gate to get into the party.
Randy, Troy & Keith track Jeff at the party and confront him, with anger in their eyes showing that they are wanting an obvious fight, Jeff tries to reason with Randy believing that the odds are even between the two as he got to beat them and they got his brother sent to the Juvenile Detention Center, but Randy dismisses this as he claims "I donโt go for even, I go for winning."
Jeff was on his side getting kicked by Randy in the face when he grabbed his foot and twisted it. Randy fell over and Jeff tried to walk back to the house when Troy grabbed him by the collar and threw him towards the house. Jane heard glass breaking and she knew then that they were going to kill him.This infuriates Jeff to stand up and knock Randy to the ground, striking a vicious punch to Randy's chest, causing Arrhythmia to his heart, which results in his death. Troy and Keith, enraged by Randy's death, begin to shoot Jeff with their guns, they fail to hit him. After the two run out of ammunition, Jeff lures them to the bathroom where he mortally wounds them.
During the struggle with Keith, a tub of bleach drenches Jeff, and so Keith takes this opportunity to set Jeff on fire by throwing his lighter at him. With the combination of alcohol and bleach drenched on Jeff, it sets him a blaze, making it practically impossible for him to put out the flames himself, Jeff then falls down the stairs of the house and passes out as the flames engulf him.
Fire spewed out of the house like an angry dragon. Jane ran downstairs immediately and got the portable fire extinguisher from the kitchen and ran outside. As she was running she popped the pin for the extinguisher for immediate use. Luckily the door was unlocked as she barged in but when she saw Jeff, she completely froze. He was lying at the bottom of the stairs almost completely on fire with adults trying to put it out. I saw bits of his skin through all the commotion. Some parts pink, some parts charred, but it was all covered in red. At the sight of all this she screamed and then passed out. Last thing she remembered was some of the adults running towards her. Whether it was to help her or get the fire extinguisher, she didn't know.
Jeff wakes up in a hospital room with bandages covering his face and body, and is informed by his mother that Liu is being released from jail after witnesses overheard Randy mention that he was responsible for getting Liu in prison. Several weeks later, Jeff's bandages are removed, revealing his face to be deformed, Jeff takes a liking to his face, and when his family notices the behaviour, the doctors mistakenly assure them that it is a result of the painkillers. At this point, Jane is also in the same hospital because of tripping and hitting her head on the fire extinguisher.
When taken home that day, during the night, Jeff's mother wakes up to find Jeff in the bathroom burning out his own eyelids and carving a glasgow smile up to his cheeks, she realises that Jeff has gone insane and knows he needs to be killed, when informing Jeff's father, Jeff overhears this and proceeds to butcher his parents. Liu wakes up from the noise and tries to avoid it by trying to go back to sleep, however Jeff creeps into the room and tells Liu to "Go To Sleep", before plunging the knife into his chest, Liu's fate is then left inknown.
While Jeff was resting in hospital, his parents had invited Jane for dinner to say thank you for delivering the fire extinguisher. About 2 days passed and she was allowed to be released from the hospital. During that time she had no contact with Jeff or his family, but she heard that Liu was released from jail and Jeff's wounds were healing. When she got back to school, she became the center of attention, more or less because she was the only one who saw what happened at the party. But the only people she told about what happened were her friends: Dani, Marcy, and Erica. She didn't know what to tell them so she told them what she saw.
As she got closer to front door of his house she began to slow down. Her knees began to shake, palms began to sweat, and she started to breathe faster and shallower. Before she knew it, she was standing completely still on the front doorstep panting like a dog. She manned up grabbed the doorknob squeezed her eyes shut and jerked it open. She stood there in the doorway with a knife in her right hand and the doorknob in her left, too terrified to open her eyes. Until she heard a voice say, "Looks like you made it. I'm glad you did, friend." she opened her eyes. Then screamed. His eyes were large and unblinking, and his smile was red. He had carved a smile into his face! His clothes were covered in blood, and then she passed out. When she woke up, she was at a dining room table. My knife was gone, and when she looked up, I saw people sitting at the table. It was her parents, Jeff's parents, his brother Liu, and her friends. They were all dead.
